Extremely Hard Surgery but Oh So Worth It

I had my surgery back in March, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I’ve had vaginal deliveries with my last pregnancy wrecking my pelvic floor due to contracting an upper respiratory infection the last trimester. My initial consult with Dr. Brady was for labiaplasty with her advising that I would need vaginoplasty due to laxity concerns, by the time my surgery came around I had developed urinary prolapse, cystocele and rectocele (the trifecta) with these new issues another surgeon had to be pulled in to assist. I ended up having a bladder sling placed to address my cystocele. It was a longer recovery than initially advised but that’s ok and I had urinary retention afterwards that required a catheter for a few additional weeks. The catheter and the stitches were the hardest part of healing, I could have cried when the catheter part was done and I think I rejoiced every time a stitch came out. This was not a simple procedure but it was a necessary one, now I can workout and sneeze to my hearts content without peeing myself or my bladder falling out.
