Excellent Results and Compassionate Care

I can’t thank Dr. Scheinberg,enough for the excellent care I received. I underwent surgery for a cystocele, rectocele, enterocele, and perineal repair. At my 6-week follow-up, my before-and-after photos were incredible. The bulging from my bladder and rectum is completely gone, and my perineum looks amazing.

My recovery wasn’t exactly as I expected. I experienced postoperative urinary retention and had to self-catheterize for several weeks. It was scary and discouraging, and I often wondered if I would ever urinate normally again. Dr. Scheinberg was always patient, reassuring, and never made me feel like my concerns were unimportant. He reminded me that everyone heals differently and encouraged me throughout the process.

Today I am happy to say that I am urinating normally again without needing to self-catheterize, and my pain has resolved. I haven’t resumed sexual activity yet, so I can’t comment on that aspect of my recovery, but everything already feels much more supported and tighter.

If you’re reading this because you’re experiencing urinary retention after surgery, don’t lose hope. Healing isn’t the same for everyone, and sometimes it simply takes more time. I’m so grateful for Dr. Scheinberg’s skill, compassion, and encouragement throughout my recovery.
