Upper Lip Lift! Wish I Did This Sooner!
WORTH IT
Super easy process. You can expect wonderful old fashioned service with a smile from Dr. O’Keeffe and his team with modern technique. An in-depth consultation made me feel very comfortable and, having seen Dr O’Keeffe’s lip lift work previously in person, I already felt safe in his hands. Procedure was very simple. It took about 40 mins under local anaesthetic and I was able to chat during this time...I felt no pain and was stitched up and sent on my way with some pain medication. I didn’t take the pain medication; I only needed some Panadol that night and the next day. It felt like a paper cut. There was a little bit of blood And swelling the first two days but after that I was able to return to work. I just needed to be careful not to stretch or create tension on the area while brushing teeth, taking bites from food and of course everyone wants to crack a joke at this time and make you laugh. Best to avoid this! Stitches were removed on day 6 and a few drops of glue were placed in the area which made it feel much more comfortable and secure. I only wish I did this sooner! The lip flip with Botox would not shorten the distance between my nose and lip post rhinoplasty (where the angle of my nasal tip was improved) and filler just made the lip hang lower. I also tried thread lift and an over lined lip tattoo which helped reduce the distance but only by about 1-2 mm out of 20. Centrally I’m now 10mm with a 50% reduction! The incision Dr. O’Keeffe made preserves the nostrils and although it’s red in the early stages (which is normal) I’m confident this scar will almost completely fade overtime. Highly recommend!

First time with a red lip
First time with a red lip - I couldn’t wear red lippy before! I had my makeup done and took some photos. I am not even a year post op. It’s very comfortable now. Wish We went a little shorter! Hope everyone is staying safe xxx

Are these before and after or both after?

Thx Kr111. I didn’t see the before pics. Will look. Also I’m wondering if you also had filler or is this look due to surgery

Not a problem! I do like creating shape with filler to make the Cupid’s bow more prominent. Just depends if you like filler or not. I did a soft filler just so it would be proportionate to my bottom lip :)

So good!! Proportions are perfect. They didn't take off too much like a few surgeons too. How is the scar without makeup? That what makes me nervous.

It’s basically the capillaries that bother me I had some laser to remove them which worked well but the follow up/next session was cancelled due to COVID-19 closures so I’ll revisit work on this once everything is open again. I don’t really wear makeup! It’s not a bad scar at all! I’ll post a photo of it it’s more the red capillaries!

Thanks - really keen to see the real up close shots. But it looks brilliant from what you've posted in terms of proportion.

Update on scar. It’s basically the capillaries that bother me I had some laser at The Manse in Paddington to remove them which worked well but the follow up/next session, which was 3 weeks after the first, was cancelled due to COVID-19 closures so I’ll revisit work on this once everything is open again. I don’t really wear makeup! It’s not a bad scar at all! I’ll post a photo of it it’s more the red capillaries! Excuse my skin it’s breaking out at the moment From my sunscreen

My, how beautiful are your lips. Such a lovely result. I am 5 months post lip lift and have terrible broken capillaries too. I will have them treated as soon as the world becomes normal again.

I hope you were able to get some treatment, It all comes together in the end. My favourite laser for capillaries is pelleve. Achieving beauty is always a process!
