I had my surgery yesterday and extremely swollen. I look like a cabbage patch doll, and my lips are so so puffy, but it is to be expected. The nurse said day 3 &4 could be worse. :( Will post some pictures soon. Dr. Haworth is nice, and most of the staff was very nice but one person in particular who handles the financial part of Dr. Haworth's business/ quoting how much the procedures will cost, I felt that she is all about getting the person to get the procedure and have them pay. Will write more tomorrow...I am going to get some rest.

It was not until around 6 weeks post op where I started to feel somewhat normal. I felt like I still looked swollen though, but fiends and family did not seem to notice. At 2-3 months I felt like I looked really good and by 4 months most of the swelling resolved, but it took a year to see full results for me. When I write full results I mean the tightness in the incision under the nose went away completely.
PLEASE try not to worry. I did not go anywhere at two weeks, but some women do not have the swelling I had and feel fine at two weeks, so everyone is different. I think you will have a lot of improvement within the next two weeks especially with the medialized corner lip lift, but it really takes a number of months for the redness, swelling and incision to heal under your nose (if you heal like I did). You had surgery on a very sensitive area of your face and it takes time to heal. Make-up can hide the incision in a few weeks where others will not see it. The corners faded pretty quickly for me and in a month I had dramatic improvement. I also had a little lump in the corners that sort of pulled when I smiled, due to the internal stitch. You have an internal stitch in the corners and it takes a number of months to dissolve and flatten, and you also have internal stitches under your nose and on your lips (I don't know how he does it on the lips). For myself they started out a little raised/bumpy and red. The line did flatten out and turned white. I was REALLY worried about those lines on my lips, but they went away and are not visible now unless I pull the skin and REALLY look in the mirror. Others cannot see them without makeup. I did have a laser treatment on my incisions by Dr Haworth.
The under the nose incision took the longest for me to heal. I had two lips lifts. It takes a while for the incision to turn from red to pink to white, and for the bumpiness to resolve. At 6 weeks I could go out with foundation and no one knew I had surgery.
Part of my nose was numb (tip) and I also had slight numbness in the incision area of my nose and center part of base of nose. This numbness resolved, but it took some time.
I did have tightness at the incision under my nose and upper lip. This takes months to resolve completely, but it does go away. It helped me to to do lip exercises. I don't know if it is too early for you to start, but if you ask Dr Haworth's office they will let you know. They helped with movement. The first 4 months is the worst with tightness, but you will see every month it gets better. Between around 9-12 months is when the under the nose incision tightness completely resolved for me.Smiling and eating and drinking through a straw were challenging the first week or two.
Dr Haworth's lip procedures seem to cause more swelling than skin only lip lifts when I see reviews on this site, but in my opinion the results are worth it. Try not to compare your healing with the lip lifts that are skin only on this site because they are a different, less evasive procedure. Again, I recommend contacting his office if you have concerns with healing or your incision.
I did get all of my movement back but thee is one thing that remains different and it is after I put lip stick on when I move my lips sideways to rub it in, it is not the same. This is because my upper lip is shorter (I assume). I have written others on this site and they also have this post lip lift, but to me this is a minor side effect worth the results (IMO).
My second lip lift is when I noticed I had difficulties drinking out of a straw for the first month or two). Dr Haworth had me do lip exercises and he also injected something in my incision. I think what happens is the swelling pulls your lip upward and also tightness in the incision may cause this (not sure). It may be the surgery itself. Doing lips exercises did seem to help but also I just had to wait to heal.
The lumps on the corners is internal stitches, and it will just take some time for them to dissolve. The same thing with the lines along your lip line. If they are slightly raised as mine were, they just took time to flatten and turn white.
Yes all of my tightness and bumps went away, but I did have a laser treatment and an injection in my incision post op by Dr Haworth. His post op treatments were included. Again, I recommend making an appointment, or call his office just to make sure everything is healing as it should be. You are still very early in recovery from this.
