I started my journey toward a new me in March 2019. I went to Dr. Hennessey office for the free consultation and the parking was free. Maureen was very nice during check in and the wait time to see Dr. Hennessy was short (about 15 minutes). During my consultation, Dr. Hennessy's nurse Tuya went over my health history and took my weight. Dr. Hennessy discussed with me the procedure, and he answered all my questions. After the consultation, I sat down with Maureen to sign my paperwork, pay my $500 deposit and to schedule my procedure. I was given a prescription for 3 medications that I needed to bring with me the day of the procedure.
On May 15th, I went in for my procedure. I arrived at 8:30 am and Tuya took my blood pressure and gave me my medications. About 15 minutes later, Dr. Hennessy was ready to start. I brought in one Blu-Ray DVD and I borrowed one from the office. I was able to watch a movie while getting liposuction. The procedure was nearly painless, there was occasional pain and stinging when he was liposuctioning my flanks. Dr. Hennessy and his nurse had excellent bedside manner. They did an awesome job of making sure I was comfortable. After the procedure, Tuya (nurse) helped me get into my compression garment, she placed sanitary napkins to catch the drainage and she put on my abdomen binder. Dr. Hennessy removed close to 10 lb of fat and I could see the difference in my waist right away.
My recovery is about what I expected, I researched liposuction for months. The first day there was alot of drainage. The drainage was pouring out of me and I had to stand in the shower to change my bandages. By the second day, the drainage stopped but the pain and swelling set in. I compared the pain to labor pains and prescription pain pills were a must for me. I've had prior surgeries but the compression garment and abdomen binder made the pain worse. In order to get rest, I sleep with about 5 pillows. I went in to see Dr. Hennessy for my 1-week follow-up and I was healing correctly.
I'm now nearing my 4th-week post op, I'm still experiencing; swelling, pain that feels like hot needles and pins. The pain and swelling is worse when I'm not wearing my garment and binder. So far, I've lost 6 inches in my waist and my weight has dropped 12 lbs. I'm still healing and I'm looking forward to seeing my final outcome. I'm very happy with my current results and I'm glad I got liposuction. Dr. Hennessy and his staff were stellar and I would highly recommend them. I will add pictures to my post soon.
