I thought this place would be a good start to document my journey to get a breast augmentation. A little about me then....I just turned 30 in March and it was a real turning point in my life. I have always been disappointed and unhappy with my breast size.

I realized around 15 that I was never going to get big boobs like I had dreamed for. I also suffered from a birth defect called pecfuts excavtum which basically means my sternum is deeply indented. Although it gives me amazing cleavage, there is no mass to break it up and I suffer from asymmetry. I hate buying bathing suits and bras because one breast is busing out and the other is barely filling the cup.

That brings me to today where I finally decided I am tired of being unhappy. I have worked hard and I am ready to take the plunge. I have already scheduled two consultations with Dr. Pautler and Dr. McCafferty in June and May 2014 respectively. I plan to call Dr. Wooten or Dr. Heil as well.

My goal is to get the BA in August or September as I plan to go on vacation in February to Mexico so that will give me plenty of time to drop and fluff and with winter I can cover up if I get a case of frankenboob. I am so excited, it's hard to be patient!

Hopefully I can provide some good information to help others or just be a good site for me to keep track of my progress :-)

Consults Scheduled - Pittsburgh, PA

So I have been doing a ton of research for doctors in my area. After stressing a ton and chickening out a few times, I finally made the calls! I now have 4 consults scheduled.

The doctor I am most leaning towards, is the one that is the furthest out - not until June 6th. My second favorite doctor so far is my first consult in two weeks. My third choice, at least initially, is my second consult. If I get a good feeling from my first two consults I think i am going to cancel my third. The third consult is for a PS who strongly prefers saline implants. As I am really leaning towards silicone, I think if I get a good vibe from my first two, I can feel confident not going to the third and then just going to potentially my favorite PS.

I can't believe I finally scheduled consultations! It's starting to feel more real even though I am still probably 6 months out from when I would be planning to get the surgery. Still this is a great first step :-) I could do without having to pat 100$ a consult though.....

So far this pic is in the running for my preferred breast look after surgery. Some nice sideboob and beautiful big and natural.

I also decided it was time once I turned 30, I've been waiting since I was 20, seen lots of my friends get theirs done and now I think its finally time. I'm having my BA on May 28th, a bit surreal but it was a relief to put down $500 to make sure I got through with it. I think its unfortunate that you have to pay for the consultation, a lot of my friends recommended seen a few PS. I'm glad I did, I wasn't completely sold on the first person I saw although he had a great reputation... however, the second PS really made me feel comfortable. Good luck! Keep us posted!

There's something about 30 I guess :-p I will be the first person in my circle of friends to do something like this but I have been unhappy for too long. I think also, for me, I had an exagerated price in mind that I thought a BA cost, so I was like i will never spend XXXX on a boob job, it's way too much money. Now that I spent 5 minutes researching and realized it was totally affordable for me, it's been full steam ahead :-) I'm sure i will have more to post in two weeks when I have my first consult , I am so excited and nervous :-)

Surgeon Opinion needed for pectus excavatum ugh

So as I mentioned earlier, I do suffer from pectus excavatum. I consider myself to suffer a fairly severe form as I have quite a noticible indention in my sternum. I am self conscious oh how you can see the gap in sports bras and bathing suits.

I was talking with my mom about and since she works with a group of doctors in a different state, she talked about my desire for a BA with them. They all recommended that I meet with a thorasic surgeon so they could recommend plastic surgeons that are used to operating on this type of chest. Happily they all sympathized with me and said BA was a common procedure that people with PE do go after to lessen the visual impact.

I can't complain about the amazing cleavege PE gives me, just wish there was more tissue to back it up haha. Sad news is that the closest thorasic surgeon who specializes in PE is two hours away :-(. still going to go ahead with my two consults in May just to see how it goes but I will be trying to get this surgeon's approval going forward.

Always something...
