I had significant asymmetry and both breasts has...
WORTH IT$8,110
I had significant asymmetry and both breasts has lost all their volume. They had gone from 32DD to 32D to 34C. They looked awful and I decided enough was enough!
I interviewed a few surgeons and also looked at travelling to Barcelona or to the States or Brazil to use surgeons my friends had used. In the end I decided the surgeon must be London based as this is where I live and it's important to plan for complications. I would advise the same to anyone else. Pick an amazing surgeon that's as close to you as possible. I came up with a possible list of 10 surgeons which comprised of ones friends had used and had achieved a good result, surgeons I knew and research on the internet. I met with 4. It came down to Mr Townley or another. I went with Mr Townley because I was most comfortable with his approach and I prefer surgeons who still actively work for the NHS in addition to private work. He has an excellent reputation and some surgeons I knew had given me the thumbs up for using him.
We decided initially to go for over muscle as that can give a more natural result (what I asked for). We also decided on a teardrop shape. I initially thought I would need to wait six months as I had a very tight time frame for this Spring and all the dates I could do were booked. My friend who has had four breast surgeries insist I really emphasise I would love to know if there was a cancellation. I was thrilled when I got the call - there was a cancelation. As a result my wait time was short.
I asked for a second consult as many of my friends have needed revision because they didn't communicate effectively with their surgeon and they didn't ask for what they really wanted. I started to look at photos on real self and save work I liked and I noticed I was often picking implants of higher profile. It's important to ask for what you want. I feel like there is a lot of pressure to ask for super natural implants. I do want them natural but I do also really want some lift. We decided on the second consult that they were now going under muscle as I had lost weight. He was also able to reassure me I have asked for what I want. I am having a different size in each breast to correct the asymmetry and there will be incision under the breast and around the nipple; which will be repositioned and tightened.
Preparation and things I bought I found useful: Chopped up salads, berries, nuts, cooked quinoa, cubes of smoked tofu, oat biscuits, almond butter, big bowl of fruit and 24 mini bottles of water placed by my bed, mini spray deodorants, mouth wash and tooth paste. A clear plastic bag with all my essentials. Plenty of cash ( for the cleaner, friends that have gone to run errands etc)kept close to my bed with all my cards and keys, doubled my cleaner's hours, someone to look after me in the first two days, charging station set up close to my bed, going to the salon for waxing, anti bac hand gel, collagen supplements, iron supplements, vitamin C, arnica, cartons of long life coconut milk, wet wipes, a pair of scissors, all shirts, blouses, cardigans, hoodies with front zips, nice leggings, slip on shoes and trousers all ironed and hanging close to the bed, nursing pillow, luxury travel neck pillow, dry shampoo, an extra post augmentation bra. I didn't use heating pads or ice packs at all. I also put super nice bed linen on my bed before I left for the hospital and a huge stack of clean towels close by. I positioned my shower gel so it would be easy to reach and went ensured I could reach everything I would need. I would advise practicing how you bed should be set up to comfortably prop you up as you will need to sleep in an elevated position for at least three nights. My nursing pillow and luxury travel pillow were god sends. I have a bad back and neck and hardly had any problems.
The surgery- Two hours, went home that night with a friend. Had some nausea from the general anaesthetic
Next day- a bit sore but not painful. Main thing is to try to drink water and eat something plain and hydrating. Managed to sleep more then I expected.
Day three- felt tired and had nausea from the meds. No pain. My friend helped me to shower and washed my hair for me. My boobs look AMAZING! No bruising and evenly spaced, sized and placed. Still not much appetite so sticking to plain foods that I have pre prepared. Have a small amount of lactase to get things moving. Watching a lot of films and netflix.
Day four- managed to shower by myself quickly. Managed to shave under my arms (semi successfully). Appetite starting to return. A bit tired from sleeping in just one position to started sleeping flat on my back and elevated according to whichever I find comfortable at the time.
Day five- Same as yesterday
Day six- showering is getting easier as is preparing food. Still no real pain.
Day seven- Left the house, got my hair and brows done and went to see my surgeon. His nurse said I have healed abnormally well and that the scars were tiny. He is very happy with my progress. I am taking the rest of the week off work so will have taken 11 days off total. Went for a small walk.
It's still early days but I have had no problems or pain whatsoever. It's a bit uncomfortable at times and it's not nice to not feel as clean as normal but really that's it.
I will post photos soon.
Needless to say I'm very happy. Of all my friends, I've had the easiest experience and everyone has said mine look better then theirs did at this stage including the ones that have had fantastic results.
