I'd always been told I would only need braces to fix one or two teeth, as a 15 year old of course I declined metal braces!

Then at 25, I realised I really wasn't happy with my teeth. It was sparked by a comment about the British and their teeth and made me think there was a little more than 2 teeth that needed sorting out.

I was quite fortunate that my dentist began doing Invisalign at his surgery, he also does orthodontic work within hospitals. I had previously asked my dentist about Invisalign and he had told me I wouldn't be suitable for it as my teeth weren't in frat condition and were fragile. However, I asked again when he began to do it and of course I was suitable now!! I didn't go into it light heartedly and I did question why I was a suitable candidate now. I did my research as had he and the material used to make them is a whole lot better.

I then began my journey to invisalign. X-rays, moulds (which for me were quite possibly the worst part of the experience so far; and some time waiting later my aligners were finally ready.

I have 13 attachments on my teeth altogether, I have only two tiny ones on one of my front teeth (so small even the dentist forgets to count them). At first I was horrified by the attachments and hadn't realised they'd be quite so noticeable

The first set aligners didn't go by without some tears, the discomfort and difficulty of getting them out.

Then about a week into, if gotten really into it. I stocked up on all sorts of dentistry and began enjoying the slight results I was seeing.

I can't say that the aligners haven't gone unnoticed but I'm more than happy showing them off to people even to the point were others begin to tell you of their teeth woes and how they'd also want to get them done.

I have no problems in wearing the aligners for the allocated time, I do work shifts and find it a little difficult to brush my teeth after each meal so I have just been putting them back on after eating and then brush my teeth when I get home.

I have had a little gum irritation and discomfort when wearing a new set of aligners but this lasts only for a day or two and then they're barely noticeable to me on.

I'm now on alligner 18 of 26 and can feel the end somewhere near in sight. I'm pleased with the results so far and looking forward to what the next 8 sets have in store for my teeth. Next time I'm back at the dentist he says there is a lot of IPR to do which I am a little apprehensive over but I shall wait and see.

Hi, Thanks for your review - it must feel good when the end is in sight! Your treatment course seems a really good offer.

Hello and welcome to the community!  You've already had brilliant results, so that's fantastic!  The price you're paying is extremely low--is that after some sort of partial insurance coverage or is it in pounds or did you just get a crazy cheap deal?  I've never seen a full course for that price!

Thank you so much for joining us!  Are you new to RealSelf or have you spent some time looking around already?

I must apologise for the treatment cost! I'm actually in the uk and it was £2500 I'm not sure of the equivalent in $$$

Final 4!

I'm now onto the final 4 official sets of aligners. I say official as I've been reading about refinements.

I'm really pleased with how they're progressing at the moment.

My orthodontist has now given me tooth whitening solution which I use at night. It's making my teeth a little sensitive but I think that is to be expected.

Wow!  Really brilliant results.  Fantastic!  Have you found that the whitening is working for you, or is it just making your teeth sensitive? :)

I can't seem to notice yet and you're right my teeth are quite sensitive now, however it has been noticed by others without mentioning anything to them :)

You're probably just to close to it to see them, then.  I know that when I use whitening, I can only do it one day at a time.  It takes a full day after having done it for the sensitivity to go away.  But luckily, I am happy with my results after just one day :).  It's mostly touching up.
