After going back& forth, I finally bit the bullet and got the permalip implants. I've had fillers many times , of 1cc mostly in upper lip. I went with the 5mm in top and 4 on bottom. My swelling is pretty bad at the moment. With some slight bruising on the L side. The pain after the procedure, on the 1st day, was no joke. But it's been minute since then. Just taking motrin and using neospotin and arnica cream.

Just left Dr. Hamrah's office, for my post op. appt. I'm almost 100% healed, a tiny bit of residual swelling. As usual, his office was very pleasant, as is all of his staff. The Dr's bedside manner is exceptional! He'sincredibly knowledgeable & trustworthy, and does NOT try to sell you on anything. The day of my surgery, Jon, 1 of the nurses's assisting, was incredibly kind & consoling when I was having some stress from the numbing/ anasthetic causing my heart to raise (I have heart issues), he was such a doll. His caring touch and tlc went a long way in that situation! I still am very VERY pleased with my choice to have the permalip procedure with Dr. Hamrah!

Was their anything they gave you to calm the adrenaline and heart racing from the numbing injections? I have the same reaction to it and would love to know if there is something to calm it down

I'm so sorry! I wasn't getting messages that I had emails on this site?! No, unfortunately not. His nurse was incredibly helpful and sweet, they both had a great bed side maner. The only reason he DIDN'T, I think, was that it was mid procedure when it happened, lk 5-10min into it. I really thought I might have a heart attack. I have a fake valve..it was SCARY!! But Valium, maybe? And I have legit heart stuff, U probably do not.

how are you? Did you take any pain pills after the procedure?

I'm so sorry, I am not/was not, getting emails from Real self that I had questions! I did not personally, except for Advil Motrin. But I'm not going to lie, the pain was rough! It was this constant burning sensation. And I'm not a baby w/pain. I've had a tummy tuck and breast implants, multiple other surgeries too, tattoos, etc, etc. But, that being said, I'm happy I did it. But it was painful w/the healing..for the first several days, anyway.

OH, and open heart surgery! Lol, forgot about the most painful of them all! So, that's my point, I'm used to pain, but this shocked me a bit. Still worth it though.

Really nice job he did. Do u know by any chanz how his price compares to other Drs?
April 20, 2017
You know, I don't, not in my area. Well, I did check and see that his prices (which the 2600$ for upper and lower, is discounted by 400 for both , I believe, bc of an old special), and they were about the same, for a couple of local surgeons in MD& No.Va. But not many Dr's seem to do it at this point. And Dr. Hamrah has been doing this specific procedure, w/ specifically Surgicil implants, for 10 to 12yrs. I just had much more faith in HIS abilities, that I'd have paid 20-30% more, over others, to have him do it. But as it turns out, he's no more expensive than the other handful of Doc's in my local area, that use the Surgicil and do this procedure. He's so well versed on this procedure, that I had total faith in him..But I mulled it over in my head, for over 18MOS.! I was SO worried that I would look "done". If you're interested in this procedure, I THINK he offers a fre3 consult for it. I REALLY recommend him. His pic book of "b4& afters" was pretty outstanding.

Thank you. Thats really helpful. I take months to years too, need to research everything. It looks natural.
Thank you SO much for sharing your photos. What kinds of foods have you been able to eat since your procedure? Feeling glad you did it right now, or not quite yet?
Awesome! Thanks for the info about eating.
