Finally getting round to a review that should have...

Finally getting round to a review that should have been done a long time ago. After finding the reviews on this website particularly useful, I hope my experience is helpful to other ladies on here.

My main motivation for getting the procedure done was my extreme consciousness of my tuberous breasts, as seen in the before pictures. I had been considering getting my breasts done for as long as I can remember, since hesitatingly coming to the conclusion that despite all my hopes during puberty that they would 'normal' out and fill up, they were not and these were the breasts I would naturally be stuck with forever. Having finally saved up the money last year, I began to get in consultation with surgeons.

I had consulted with a couple of doctors, the first from an European clinic with whom I initially wanted just a lift to sort out the sag and my enlarged areolas. Being of a petite frame and naturally quite slim with small natural breasts, I did not want anything considerably larger than what I was originally working with. This, together with the perception that implants would feel 'foreign', caused me to decide I did not want implants. However, I was never fully convinced this was the right way to go and thus decided I wanted to consult a doctor in person to get a better opinion on what the final aesthetic would be like.

I did see a UK surgeon following this, who laid out my options as a) breast lift without implants, which was indeed a possibility but he would have to remove tissue from my larger breast to even out the volume between them (he advised against this as he didn't think it was worth me losing the volume I already had - said the larger breast was the nicer one because of this) and b) go forward with implants. This however would very likely consist of 2 surgeries spaced at least 6 months apart, to fix the various problems I had in terms of volume, asymmetry, sag, etc. Obviously, this would raise the price significantly since surgery fees would have to be paid twice, and would mean the finished look wouldn't be complete for a considerable time.

However, this same surgeon did recommend Dr Pacifico to me as an expert in the field of tuberous breasts, and I am eternally thankful. I decided to seek out Dr Pacifico and this is the surgeon I ended up going with, and would recommend over and over again, particularly with cases such as mine.

Dr Pacifico (I suppose being well experienced in this type of breast deformity) told me there wouldn't be a need for two surgeries, as the work needed to be done could be done in one. I had a few consultations at his clinic to discuss my exact needs and wants, and he set out the probably realities against my expectations, letting me know that I must be realistic and not set the bar of the finished product too high; but I have to say I believe for my condition before my current breasts have met exactly what I wanted (as much as they can).

Being petite as I say, together with the fact I didn't want my surgery to be noticeable (I was doing it much for to fix the condition rather than increase size - if it were not for tuberous breasts I would not have had the augmentation at all), I decided on small sized implants. I believe I ended up with 200cc in the larger breast and 225cc in the smaller one (to fill it up accordingly). The implants were round silicone under the muscle.

As you can see in pictures, the size increase is slight and many would still say my breasts are small, but size wise they are exactly what I was looking for. Braless/ in sports bras they flatten out well and I almost look quite flat chested (ie my breasts are not noticeable at all) but in low cut tops and a bra they hold out well. If I wore a bra with padding, they would be well pushed up and can easily appear larger. I really feel like I can adapt them to all the situations I would need to.

I usually stick to soft bras (no padding or underwire) because I prefer the feel and quite enjoy smaller breasts for the everyday, however unlike before i do feel like I fill them out well and still have something there (the photos in the black triangle bra still show slight cleavage but breasts still look small and perky).

As it has been a couple of months, the breasts have really begun to settle into place and are dropping well. They feel incredibly soft to the point that when you squeeze them unless you are really looking you wouldn't be able to detect the implant. I was afraid that with a round implant I wouldn't get the slope and they would just jut out (as they do in the earlier photos) but I was reassured that they would drop and due to the consistency (if that's the right word) of the implant, when you hold it hanging it drops into a tear drop shape and indeed they have dropped nicely. The only time you can really tell is when I lift my arms up, and then the round shape is much more noticeable. But this is probably because I do not have much fat on my chest being slim. I stuck to the massage routine recommended almost religiously and I think this has worked really well in setting up good pockets for the implants to sit in as they move very naturally, drop from side to side nicely if I am laying sideways, move freely when pushed apart/ squeezed together etc. When they sit in triangle soft bras they look perky but natural, however I have noticed though that in normal underwired bras with the tiniest tiniest amount of padding they do look a tiny bit fake as they are pushed up, but I don't know if this is because my level of scrutiny is much higher than the average person looking at them.

In terms of the procedure, I couldn't have asked for it to go better. Dr Pacifico was reassuring as he always was, his nurses were lovely and the hospital in general felt like home. Following the procedure, I did spend the evening and night incredibly drowsy and my stomach was pretty upset - I did vomit anything I ate. However I did manage a few hours sleep and all in all the levels of discomfort I felt were expected. On painkillers I didn't feel too much pain sitting still, but moving to go to the bathroom was painful (again expected with movement after major surgery). I also believe this was made more intense by the fact I had under the muscle.

I resumed every day activities within the week, being careful around my breasts and wearing a band (which I think helped keep them secure and minimised pain in this way by keeping pressure on them) continued to do my normal routine without too much difficulty. Sometimes I would get the odd pulsation of pain, and my sides did hurt quite considerably for the couple of weeks after, but this subside.

The photos in plasters are taken about a week post surgery, the rests taken around 2 months after surgery. The scars are healing well, not as well as I would like but obviously I dream of them not showing at all and this is not a possibility anyway, so the progress they are making is good. The breasts have dropped well and the lower fold of my breasts has greatly increased in this time, as I had very small folds with my tuberous breasts, and I am told this only gets better as they continue to drop.

Overall I am incredibly pleased with the results, the whole procedure was done so expertly, I believe I was in the best hands possible with Dr Pacifico and his staff, and though the procedure was expensive (more expensive than I was initially prepared to spend) I really did pay for the quality.

I welcome any questions and will post updates later on in my progress!
