Hello! Did you get Permalip removed eventually? Did your lips get smaller over years due to implants migration? I have been thinking to get the procedure done but still undecided because of negative reviews and long term side effects. Thanks!

I've been doing research on having lip implants vs injections, as I've recently started with injectables, Versa, in August 2020, and again in January 2021, and I love the look and wanted a permanent procedure. However, as I live in the USA, I read that Permalip implants were not FDA-approved here, because the tube "floats" (moves) around inside the lip too much not staying in place and causing the tube to poke out - just as what's happening to you. Since live in the UK, I don't know if you've read about this issue you are experiencing as being a fairly regular occurrence thus causing the FDA ban here. So I thought it might be helpful to tell you that this is a common enough occurrence so that we, Americans, can't find surgeons here who do implants. On a good note, though, I've also read that the Permalip brand is much better than the alternative brand (it starts with the letter G, but I can't remember the brand name) as they are fairly easy to remove since your body doesn't heal directly to the implant itself, like "brand G", where as the surgeon has to cut basically cut the skin tissue away from the entire tube and very likely causing disfigurement. So that's a plus side. And I've also read that, while having the tubes removed you can also have any remaining injected filler removed with a product, again, I'm not sure as to the product name, but I believe it's called hyaluronidase or very close, and that you can basically start over with just using injectables if you wait a bit for the body to forget and quit dissolving any new injectables. So maybe you can look into this and just starting over with injectables only. I hope is helpful to you, if you didn't already know it. Either way, you're beautiful, and I wish you the best! Keep your head up, and try not to worry, because you don't look bad, not like it seems like you feel. The best of luck to you.

This is not true. Permalip implants are FDA approved in the US.

They actually are NOT FDA approved but they are used as on off label procedure. Kind if like the Covid vaccine! LOL

Thinking of having removed

I really believe my implants are wrongly placed! Top implant does not reach corners of top lip (are they meant to?) bottom implant feels lumpy & bunched on left. Still have the end of left implant popping out when purse my lips! I find I’m constantly aware of these problems & messing about with my lips!

So just over one year on and my implants are becoming annoying and I’m getting quite obsessed by them! When I pout or suck say using a straw a hard lump (I’m assuming it’s the end of the implant) pops out in the bottom left of my mouth! Anyone else experienced this! Iv added recent pics of my lips. All feedback good or bad welcome please

I had Surgisil implants and have had no oddities occur; I'm very happy I had it done. That said, can you return to your doctor and let him take a look at the lump? A good doctor wants to know if you have a problem as it's his reputation on the line. BTW, they do look good!

Thanks can’t see it but so annoying I have to try not think about it!! The surgeon has now left the clinic I went to but I’m going to see another surgeon there.

Hi. I had the same problem except in the left upper lip. Your tunnel may have shortened as it healed, like mine. I think my problem was worse: the “bump” was there at all times and my upper lip was flat and shapeless. I guess the tunnel that the doctor created did not follow the lip contour (!!!!). I went back to him and he deepened the same tunnel. He did it on the spot, while I was fretting that my parking meter might expire. The situation did not improve much and , needless to say, I did not return to this doctor. I ended up going to someone else a couple of years later who closed off the end of the initial tunnel and made another. I am pretty happy with the result, although he operated from the outside (so I have some redness and very mild scarring).

That’s so helpful to know yes your situation sounded worse and I’m pleased you got it sorted. I’m not even sure if I like my lips definitely get a better shape with filler. Unless I pout they still look thin & I don’t like to pout because of the lump!!! It’s definitely the end of the implant

I had mine removed. The doctor inserted implants that were too short and the "tunnel" was outside the lip line - that was why I had protruding lips. I ended up getting a lip lift and I am much happier with the results.

I had my top implant taken out / my smile was just too unnatural.
I did a lip lift so much happier now
