5 weeks post op
I’m five weeks post-op and I’m happy to say I have very little report.
I haven’t had any problems with infections, seromas or anything like that. About 2 weeks ago I started putting silicone gel on the scar. I have no way to know if it’s working or not though!
The scar is looking fine. It’s slowly becoming raised and a deeper red on the sides, but the middle is very flat and the colour is less severe. I can’t help but think it’s because I always sleep on my sides?
Physically I’m feel back to normal. I obviously can’t do anything too strenuous, but I have started doing short, easy bike rides (which I’m technically not supposed to be doing).
I can’t think of anything else to add but if anyone has any questions feel free leave a comment or message me ????

2 Weeks post op and back home!
This will be a bit of a long one as I neglected to give regular updates over the last 2 weeks!
Hospital
I stayed in the Samitivej Thonburi Hospital for 3 nights and it was great. I couldn’t complain about the facilities or the nursing staff at all. Whenever I pressed my little buzzer the nurses were in in a jiff and always friendly, some of the nurses’ English wasn’t great but it was never a problem. Also, as I was there alone, being able to stay in hospital for 3 nights with 24hr care was a luxury I couldn’t have gotten any where else. I had a private room with a en-suite bathroom, a microwave and fridge. I couldn’t have asked for more. Downstairs there are two little cafes and a smoothie shop and a convenience store.
Recovery
I have to say, so far, my recovery has been a breeze. After all the reading I did beforehand was bracing myself for the worst, however, after Day 2 pain was practically none existence and I was able to get myself up and move around without any real problems (although for the first 4 days I was very hunched over and walking very slowly.) Even my energy level returned quite quickly, some days have been better than others but I would say by Day 6/7 I was back to 95% energy wise. All of this is a little annoying because I think I wasted a lot of annual leave days but I shouldn’t be complaining!
I had the drains removed on Day 5. For those of you who are worried about the drains, they are kind of annoying but they’re not that bad. The hospital gave me a little, cloth over-the-should bag to keep them in and I wore them under a flowy dress, so, unless I was going to the toilet or trying to clean myself, I didn’t have to notice them that much. Having said that I know some people have to keep them for 12+ days! And I don’t think I would be so chill about it if I had to keep them that long!
Results
I’m pleased with the results for sure. The scar is neat and fairly low. I still have a lot of stretch marks though. This may sound dumb, but when I imagined my post TT stomach I mentally drew a straight line just above my belly button and thought “Practically ALL my stretch marks are below my belly button, they’re all going to be cut away! Hooray!” Now, I don’t know if everyone else reading this is smarter than me, but of course the surgeon doesn’t cut a straight line, they cut a semi circular line, which means many of the stretch marks (technically below the belly button) are still there. When I saw my stomach for the first time I was mildly shocked and very disappointed (I cried a little when the nurse left the room). It only took half a second to realise how I made the wrong assumption but I thought I would throw this out because be at least one other person out in RS world must be as dumb as me, right?? So to that person, remember - imagine a curved line from one hip over the belly button and down again, whatever is above that line will be with you forever.
The other thing I don’t love in my new belly button. It seems too big and very long (it kind of looks like a vagina. Am I crazy? Look at the pics and you tell me.) It’s not ugly or unnatural looking or anything like that, it’s totally fine. I guess I was just hoping for something in a cuter, rounder variety.
Oh dear, all of this is starting to sound very negative. I have to reiterate, overall I am genuinely very happy with the results. No more saggy skin sag! I bend forward and everything starts where it’s meant to be! And, to top it off, I can definitively notice better shape and definition in my waist.
I have more to say but I’ll elaborate in a different post because this is getting too long.
So far, so worth it!

They removed 500grams, which is a little disappointing as I was hoping for more :p
I uploaded I pic for anyone who’s interested in seeing.
