Just waiting for the swelling to calm
Down. Im eagerly waiting to see my new flat stomach that I’ve been waiting almost 16 years for. This step was huge beyond words for me. Just Having to plan so much. Was exhausting in Itself. However, with the step by step information and guide lines, and a few rounds of questions and answers with Charlotte in the back office, I was able to come to a decision. The hospital staff were fab, it was like being looked after by your family. The consultant was in constant contact with them also. Monitoring my progress. I had a strange reaction to general
Anaesthetic, causing horrendous nausea and sickness for an entire day. However the doctor pulled out all the stops to ensure that I was treated safely, and that I remained in hospital under their care until I felt better, and she was satisfied that I had turned a corner. Which indeed I did, this meant I spent double the time in hospital, but… I can’t fault the carers. They went all out to ensure that I was ok. Everyone from the catering team, the physio therapists, the amazing carers, to the charge nurse who dropped me to my car were the kindest people. Who took a real interest in you, and went out of their way to ensure you were comfortable, whilst delivering nothing short of gold standard care to you, whilst your at your most vulnerable point. I was given choices, and I was given time, all
Very generously.The carers Christy, Hannah, kerry, Angela, the nurses Sharon, Lauren, Kathryn, Paula, Mary, Sheula, the physios holly and Lisa. The catering team haseena and her mother. The x ray guy Dave, the Porter Tom. The house doctor Dimitri… the after care nurse Yvonne. Dr tzafetta and the other specialists in theatre, you all worked your magic..I am
Now healing , and getting nearer to my goal of a flat stomach everyday. Thank you all for being part of my journey. It’s not over yet, but I couldn’t have done it with out you all… I highly recommend this team of people they were simply the best.
