A little background on me...
I am 28 and have a 7 year old daughter. Throughout my life my weight fluctuated a lot and I grew into my curves pretty early so I’ve always had stretch marks. It wasn’t until giving birth that my skin began to loosen. And now after more weight fluctuation it has gotten worse. My biggest weight was 227 and my smallest was about 160. I am currently 207 and with my surgery 6 weeks away, am aiming to lose about 10-15 more pounds. I workout occasionally and eat right most of the time. This is something that I have to get consistent with. I am very shapely so the weight doesn’t look bad on me, I’d just prefer to tone up. My goal is to be under 200 pounds prior to surgery and lose about 20-25 pounds after surgery. I’m concerned about the consistency in my tummy tuck if I lose so much weight so that will definitely be one of the questions I ask about. I’ve watched almost every video on YouTube about the experience and I’ve even seen some women gain and lose 30 pounds after surgery. I’m not really worried about losing weight after.
So I’ve been researching and considering a tummy tuck for years as I’m sure most of us on here has. After years of struggling to get this in order, finally, I AM READY! My surgery is scheduled for May 9th with Dr. Richard G. Reish. I met with him over a year ago and fell in love immediately. I walked in a ball of nerves, this was my first time actually meeting with a surgeon in person. All my other consults were via Skype or email since I was initially going out of state. I had a list of questions and Dr. Reish answered every question without making me feel like he was rushing through the consultation. He even answered most of the questions I had before I got the chance to ask! He was very patient, knowledgeable and informative. I had other surgeons on my list to follow up with and decided I didn’t need to look any further, he was the one.
Since then, I’ve watched several surgical procedures because I’m a worry wart and would rather be 110% prepared and aware of the process. I also inquired about exparel (for an additional cost) because I don’t tolerate pain well so I want all the help I can get. My next steps are getting supplies and preparing myself for the recovery.
I don’t feel nervous at the moment just super anxious to be snatched. One thing I am worried about is the healing process, I have vacations in July and August. I asked Dr. Reish about traveling during that time and he said I would be fine. I will also follow up with him at my pre-op appointment, April 23rd, with all the questions I asked before and some new ones that I have.
Let’s get this going time to be snatched !!!! I’m so excited lol I will also be vlogging my recovery and experiences. I watch a lot of videos on YouTube and will be including and addressing some things I feel weren’t provided in most videos. It’s going to be raw and uncut, 100% honest!

I'm so glad you decided to start a review and I wish you well on your journey! At what point did you decide that this surgery was right for you and how did you find the courage to take your first step?

Hi Cindy, Thank you for your well wishes. Not too long after I had my child in 2011 I decided that I would need a tummy tuck to improve the appearance of my skin. I struggled for years with cruelly going through with it. It wasn’t until 2017 when I decided to go in for a consultation that I actually felt like this was something I could really do. My surgeon made me feel so confident in my decision and my support system was so confident in my happiness that it rubbed off on me!

Thank you so much! I will keep you posted and also post pictures of before and after. He’s such a personable person though very easy to get comfortable.

I am so anxious May 9th is right there, literally! So I just got done with my Pre-op appointment, surgery paid in full with exparel. I met with the care coordinator, Kimberly and signed all my informational packets. Met with Dr.Reish, I’m a ball of nerves so I didn’t have many questions. We exchanged numbers and he let me know to call him or text him whenever I want (that’s good because I sure will lol). He stated he was super excited about my surgery and I’m like oh ok, im nervous af hi lol . A few of the questions I managed to ask through all my nervousness were about scar length and drain placement. Both weren’t major concerns for me I just wanted to be aware. I voiced my concerns about my anemia and low iron levels due to the fact that I may have or be starting my menstrual either the day before or day of surgery. He let me know that it was fine and patients usually have their cycle around the time of their surgery. He also stated that the procedure has minimal blood loss so I will be fine. He was very calm and polite about it, he let me know that I can continue taking iron pills.

My surgery is at 7am. Sheesh. I scheduled my post op appointment with Ashley for 5/21. She gave me the VitaMedica Kit along with a few goodies like a free facial, lip balm and which was cool I love gifts no matter the nature lol.

Overall the pre-op ran smoothly, everyone was moreso interacting with me like “this is definitely happening” lol. Their confidence and the confidence of my support team is going to have to suffice for now because I’m just too nervous. I have 3 days to pick up my medications and I start the VitaMedica on 4/25. I currently weigh 203 so looking to be 195 by the time of surgery. I’m not consistent with my eating, I’m just gonna have to say no to all the parties and good weather fun for now, if I don’t hit 195 I atleast want to be under 200.
