I can honestly say that making the decision to have a tummy tuck at age 54 with Dr. Jugenburg was the best thing I could have ever done for myself!
After losing 80 lbs in my teens my skin was a bit loose but I was young so my skin recovered fairly well. Jump ahead to my 30’s and after having a baby and then large twins 4 years later, my skin was showing some signs of wear for sure. Then as I began aging in my 40’s it had hit its breaking point and the sagging skin and ‘shelf’ on my stomach were too much to handle any longer.
I started searching for treatments for my skin and after multiple attempts with creams, I decided to try FlexSure and SculpSure (warm sculpting) and those were a complete waste of time and money. Finally, I decided to meet with Dr. Jugenburg to see what my options were for a solution. I should have made that decision a decade earlier!
The process was extremely quick for me but that could be because my availability was wide open. The time between my initial telephone consult and my surgery was about 4 weeks and during that time, I was busy with the preparation of forms, doctor wellness visits, lab tests and a Covid test. It was tight but I was able to get it all done in time.
I had an early morning surgery and the entire process was smooth and seamless. I was given the option to either have my story shown on social media or not. There was absolutely no pressure to do so and I chose to allow it to be shown. I believe in being able to research procedures and contrary to my previous experiences with body sculpting, Dr. Jugenburg shows truthful, real-life results and explains with honesty the procedures, risks and outcomes.
My surgery went smoothly and I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. I had an extended tummy tuck and liposuction of my flanks. Quite a lot of skin was removed and I also had some muscle tightening done as well. To be truthful, the first few days were pretty painful but the medications that were given to me helped immensely. Being bent over wasn’t too difficult at all and even though I have lower back problems, I didn’t notice any pain from it. As a matter of fact, I went to a concert only 2 weeks after my surgery and no one from the group was the wiser as to the procedure I just had done!
I was able to begin light exercise about 3 months after surgery and my stomach muscles are getting stronger each day. There is still a bit of residual numbness in some areas but the feeling is definitely improving over time.
I’m now 9 months post-op and am more than over-the-moon happy with my results. I love my tight tummy and my cute belly-button! I haven’t been able to comfortably wear a bikini for over 2 decades and now I proudly wear one whenever I have the opportunity! Exercising is much easier without the excess skin hanging out and I no longer have to worry about feeling like I have to wear shapewear with my clothes. I’m absolutely thrilled to be wearing tight-fitting clothes to show off my new curves!
Dr. Jugenburg and his entire team have been welcoming, informative and caring each and every time I have come in. He is extremely skilled in his craft and I highly recommend him for any cosmetic procedures that need to be done. All in all, it was a truly fantastic experience and I'm extremely happy with my results.
