From Olena/Oleana
I had two consecutive pregnancies in my late thirties and after that my stomach decided he enjoyed being pregnant and decided to keep the pregnancy shape. I couldn't slim down neither with diet no with excercise. And I was getting sick of wearing baggy clothing. So I decided to do this popular procedure called tummy tuck. I also did 360 lipo and chin lipo. USA surgeries are too expensive so I decided to go to Mexico. When I started researching the doctors - there were a lot of them in Tijuana - I read the reviews and most important - watched videos of the doctors themselves to see with which doctor I click. I clicked with doctor Ricardo Vega.
I had a lot of worries and concerns before going to Mexico: how safe is it? How am going to pay? How am going to cross the border? But when I started talking to the team - they made things easy. And they all speak english there which helped a lot. They arranged my transportation to and from San-Diego airport - I would like to thank Xochit for a smooth ride and pleasant conversation. Also I would like to thank patient coordinator Margarita - she explained me the whole process of before and after the surgery, gave me different options of payment methods, recommended a recovery house - she is very easy going, easy to talk to, makes you feel comfortable. Also I want to thank the front desk person Karina for being polite and attentive, and my driver Pablo. Pablo was driving me to and from my massages - from the recovery house to the doctor's office. I felt safe and I felt like a VIP person driven all over the place. And Ramona gives the best lymphatic drainage massage. And then there's Nurse Ari. Nurse Ari is the Perfect Nurse, the Queen-of-all -nurses: knowledgeable, caring, compassionate, and at the same time she knows how to say "no" to a person. She is the best nurse I ever had and I lived in three different countries and had previous surgeries. So I loved the whole team, nice and pleasant people . And I want to thank Dr Vega for making me look like I'm 25 again :)
My recovery was very rough though - because right after the surgery I got the worst flu of my life. My body was exausted: I was recovering from this difficult surgery and fighting the worst flu at the same time. My main symptoms after the surgery were tightness around my stomach and lower chest area and pulling sensation. Those symptoms were gradually getting better - not by day, but by week. Also I usually have a mild acid reflux, and after the surgery it gotten a little worse, but in a couple of months it's gotten back to my normal. I know that lot of people complain of pain - I didn't feel pain, they gave me pain medications. I don't do good with anesthesia - I was dizzy and throwing up right after, but that was just for one day. As soon as anesthesia wore out - I stopped throwing up , thank God.
The night before surgery I stayed in a hotel and after the surgery I went to Bella recovery house. At the time I was staying there the price was 180 per night per private room, that INCLUDED 3 meals and 24/7 nurse care. I thought that was a good deal. I travelled solo so I needed help, nurses help you with everything you need: taking medications on time, shower, laundry. Special thanks to night nurse Daniela, day nurse Daniela, Gavi, Yareli, Jessica and patient coordinator Mara. My favorite part about Bella house was that they bring your meals IN YOUR ROOM. I was too sick to go anywhere for the first couple of days so I loved the room service! And the meals were really good.
When I was going back home 8 days after my surgery it was still a little hard to walk so I requested special assistance/wheelchair through my airlines - so they rolled me in wheelchair through the airport. When I was going to Tijuana - I was nervous , scared, panicky.... When I was leaving Tijuana - I left all the fears and anxiety behind me, but I brought back with me good memories of the nice people I met there that were emotionally supporting me through this journey. And of course I left my old body back in TJ - brought the new one with me, he-he-he.
Now I'm three months post-op - I look really good, very happy with my results and I decided to treat myself to a nice vacation in Spain to reward myself for courage of doing the surgery. I bought a whole bunch of bright and tight fitting clothing for my vacation, check out my pictures! Its nice to be able to wear tight fitting youthful clothing and feel like a good looking person again :) Love, Oleana
