It’s been a while but I’m back with some thoughts. I’ve had concerns but once I flew home New Life stopped returning my calls. The last time I spoke with someone the nurse said it could take five years to see my results lol that basically let me no she was trying to say anything to get me off the phone because it doesn’t take five years to see your results smdh. What I don’t understand is before my TT my stomach operated differently it disposed my food I could see it slim down but since the surgery my stomach stores food for days. I’ll be bloated for almost a week it’s frustrating. I’m not sure if the lymphatic tissues are still rebuilding but I’ll never No because my doctor staff won’t call or make sense when I do reach them. There was a time where I’d wake up with a flat stomach and other times wake up to it poking out. Much smaller than before but I don’t like the puffiness and with it being almost a year post op I’m hoping I won’t need liposuction in the future to get it as flat as I’d like it to be. I’ll show a few pictures.

No pictures update just an update on follow-up care
Today I make 4 months post op and I have a lot of unanswered questions. Most of my questions are about swelling and wanting to make sure I’m headed in the right direction. I don’t regret having a tummy tuck the only thing I don’t like is once I left back home to houston I felt like just another number. I reached out to Dr. Simmons on Instagram he saw my message and didn’t respond. It would be nice to get some feedback after you pay these people. I was promised call backs and haven’t gotten one yet. So I would say if you can get surgery in the same city you live in that would be better. If something bad were to happen I couldn’t get these people to call me back. Once I spoke to a nurse about swelling she told me it can take five years to get final results. This is far from the truth and I could tell she thought that would get me off the phone quick. Although I got treated nice while I was in Miami at their facility the follow up care is horrible. They could care less. So far I’m dealing with swelling still. I can’t really tell my true size. Maybe next month or at the 6 month post op mark I’ll provide pics. For now I just wanted to share some thoughts and feelings after I look at the over-all care.

Yes, it is normal to still have swelling at your stage. I’m 1.5 years post op and still have swelling sometimes. I will say that significant swelling decrease happened around the 3 month mark, and then again at 6 months. I wore a compression garment at work until around 6 months and then stopped. But when I work a long shift I can still feel and see swelling, especially in the area around my belly button. Hopefully that helps answer your question a bit.

Well I had my surgery in the same city and was told by the office nurse “I don’t need to tell you anything” because I’m a nurse. I had NO idea what I was getting myself into post op. I wanted and needed ALL the info….compression? How long? Swelling for how long? Best sleep position? When to take off that stupid xeroform gauze that caused a navel infection TWICE! I paid him a LOT of money and his office staff is absolute shit. They’re way more worried about posting stupid videos on IG and getting ALL the Botox and fillers at the office. One day soon, I’m gonna blow them up on social media. I know I’m not the only one they’ve left in the dark. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an amazing surgeon but after care? He legit doesn’t give AF.

How is your flexibility? Are you able to arch your back like before surgery? I’m having issues from mine, but I’m not as far out as you. Thanks for the review!!

Yes I can arch my back I’m pretty much back to normal at almost 5 months post op.

Hi, I had my Tummy Tuck an liposuction on Dec 13, 2021 and I have very little swelling. When I seen my Dr. Last week he had to drain a little fluid from my stomach. But swelling is normal.

My docs office gave me a list of things to expect your body to react after surgery and what you should do and not do depending on each procedure. I think a good support staff should be there for you before and after surgery. Bring aftercare up on your interviews see how they answer you.

I agree but after I had my surgery and flew back to houston they don’t call back they just don’t care. So I’m having to rely on Google and groups like this one for my concerns.

As you should. I was told yesterday on my 2nd post op appointment to look at 6 months with regards to swelling and that everyone is different. I think you are looking great! Some continue to use their garment up until that time, but make sure you go down in size as your body loses fluids. I think it sucks that they don’t extend giving you the proper aftercare, it not only benefits you it benefits them since you are representing their work.
Take care!!

I’m feeling back to normal. Still swelling that’s the part that’s not fun. Determining if it’s swelling or if you’re putting on weight. Finding the balance between working out and not being able to is tough. I’ll be back on my treadmill walking. The incision healed perfectly. I don’t have any major complaints. I got lucky no keloids. Still drinking a lot of water and watching my food portions.

I have been putting this off for past 2 years, but you look amazing. I'm inspired to trust the process

Thank you see much. Yes trust the process. There will be moments of self doubt but eat good, drink lots of water and wear your compression garment also listen to your body.

You are looking great!! I just had my surgery 2 weeks ago and seeing your results is really helpful and gives me hope about swelling eventually going down!

November 2, 2021
Thank you. Yes swelling will go down. It’s going to be frustrating at times but your body is running the show so just do what you can but listen to it, I wish you the best.

I had a tummy tuck by Dr. Simmons as well. I had to go back because My incision opened back up so I am a month behind on healing. I am really starting to see my results. I am also still sore and swollen.
