Almost 3 years post op

Almost 3 years post op (surgery May 2020). Still very happy with my results, I had a tummy tuck, muscle repair and liposuction to posterior hips. Surgeon was Jeremy Hurren based West Sussex/Hampshire in the UK. I've gained about 8lb since surgery, but still feel results look good and very happy with my scar.

So a few days ago I decided to try and just wear my shape wear instead of the binder aswell. The shape wear is a pull on body that has shorts, not medical grade so not really thick but it helps even out the compression as it has no seams and then I wear my velcro binder on top. Well later that day when I took it off I had a buldge in my upper abdomen, I was really worried i'd done something to ruin the muscle repair. I don't think I have, it all feels intact. But as my stomach is so flat below my belly button, the top noticeably sticks out a little as I still have a small amount of fat there. The lower tummy is rock hard, it's literally muscle and thin skin (previous thin skin from above old bellybutton). I felt so vulnerable and tense without the binder which made me constantly brace my tummy muscles and caused a bit of back ache. I think where it's so tight below belly button, if I'm bloated etc it's going to show in the upper area as that was where I had the biggest separation and the muscles are probably a bit more lax there. This whole journey really messes with your head sometimes! Anyway a few days later I'm back to normal, I'm not totally flat up top but I'm happy with it, I don't think unless I had zero fat there that I will ever be really flat. Happy with my belly button though, it should heal lovely. Such a nice thin scar and hidden inside so not an oval shape around. I wish it were a little deeper, but I can't grumble it's so much better than it was! Overall feeling good

10 days post op

I've taken the second lot of dressings off today and applied micropore tape. First real shower today which was lovely! Got some pictures of how it's all looking, very pleased so far. Will continue to post pictures weekly as I change the tape. There's a few areas, particularly on my left hip where it's a little sore from the binder that I'm hoping will flatten out over the next few weeks.

From first meeting Mr Hurren to my current post op care, everything has been fantastic from start to finish. Mr Hurren was professional, but also very honest/realistic about what he could achieve for me. This really helped manage my expectations, but my goodness did he over deliver!! I cannot believe my results so far. I'm early on in my recovery, but my shape is incredible and my incision is healing beautifully. His secretaries are brilliant, I was impressed from day one with their communication, I would get a reply very promptly and no question was left unanswered. The only slight negative was the wait times, but this was completely out of their hands as my procedure was delayed due to the pandemic. It was well worth the wait!
