Doctor’s pictures

Here are the official pics from the doctor’s office. I am so happy to be done with the binder! I’m still slightly concerned with the bulge between the bottom of my rib cage. I doubt it’s swelling at this point, so hopefully now that I can get back to working out it will go down a bit. I also still have some lumpiness on the one side - hoping it doesn’t turn into fibrosis. Things are still a bit tight when I straighten out but I’m sure as I get more active they’ll stretch back out. The scar is looking fantastic. No sign of necrosis.

Physical Recovery Was Way Easier Than Mental Recovery

I’ve been thinking about getting a TT ever since my last child was born. I had an emergency c-section and ended up also having an emergency hysterectomy. It was a very traumatic experience but knowing that I was done having children made me more inclined to have this procedure. I did consult with several doctors but landed on Dr. Robbins due to his experience and multiple board certifications. I had an Abdominoplasty with lip of flanks. The day of surgery, the car ride home (2.5 hours) was terrifying. I felt my heart racing and I had to force myself to focus on my breathing (I was likely having a panic attack). The next day, I felt like I couldn’t breathe and went to the emergency room. Everything checked out fine. The day after, I went back again because I had another panic attack and was convinced that there was something seriously wrong. For the first week and a half, the panic attacks came and went. Nighttime was the worst, and I hardly slept. The one-week follow up appointment went really well - no issues and the drains came out without much pain. I followed up with my GP who prescribed some anxiety meds. I used them at nighttime and only for a couple of days. By 2 weeks the panic attacks had subsided and I felt like a totally different person. I’m now about 4 weeks out and feel great. There’s still some swelling around the incision site, and a couple of hard lumps on my side where he performed liposuction. I’m rotating between the binder and a couple different compression garments. I’m excited to see the results after the swelling and lumps dissipate, especially after that hellish first week and a half.

Dr. Robbins and his staff are very professional and friendly. He comes with plenty of knowledge and experience. My only concern is the amount of time and attention given in the aftercare process. Both follow up conversations with him were less than five minutes and while I wasn’t expecting a half hour appointment, I feel like fully addressing concerns and giving more info on what to expect, how things should feel if they’re progressing normally, red flags to watch for and what can be done about them, etc would have gone a long way. Overall, very satisfied at this point. (5 weeks out)
