Tummy Tuck and Liposuction in Cancun

I had C-section belly.... for 16 years (my youngest is now 17) I have wanted to get rid of it. I had gotten some info on getting it done where I live and it was just way too expensive for me. I heard about plastic surgeons in Mexico and in the Dominican Republic being less expensive so I started researching. I settled on Mexico and found Dr. Carmona. I made sure he was a board certified plastic surgeon and did a lot of looking at reviews and photos. His assistant in the office, Dani, was so great. Every question she answered. Every concern she covered. I placed my deposit and within 2 months I found myself in Cancun, alone. Yes I went by myself. Maybe crazy, maybe brave, maybe both. Turns out a lot of women go alone. My driver picked me up at the airport and took me straight to the hospital for pre-op tests. This went smooth as he did all the talking and translated everything that I needed to know. George stayed with me through it all. He took me to the office where I filled out paperwork and met Dr Carmona. Kind of a dry personality but very professional and very focused and passionate about his work. He drew on me and took pictures. George then too me to get some groceries as I would be in my room recovering for the next 8 days. The hotel was clean and 8 days was included in my surgery quote. George picked me up the next morning and took me to the hospital. Nurses were nice but didn’t know a whole lot of English, but everything worked out. I met my anesthesiologist and Dr. Carmona came to see me before surgery. The surgery was good and I stayed one night in the hospital where they controlled my pain very well. George picked me up the next day and took me to the hotel. He handed me my antibiotics. Dr Carmona forgot to give me my pain meds to take to the hotel but George brought them to me the next day. I did have a severe headache for a couple f days and then use came to my hotel the next afternoon to look at the incision and brought more pain meds. I can say I did not like the fact that about 28 hours the first day where I saw no one. And I wasn’t completely impressed with the nurse. She got in and got out as quickly as possible and didn’t know much English. I survived though and she came once a day after that and helped me shower and take care of the drain. I had that drain for 8 days. Uncomfortable but necessary. I ordered food delivery with Rappi and had a fridge and microwave in my room. I rested and ate. The hotel would bring me my free breakfast every morning and it was really good. I did end up having to stay a few extra days because the drain wasn’t ready to come out and because he didn’t want me to fly right after removal. Understandable and being safe. So if you do not want to fly with your drain (I didn’t want to plus I couldn’t find a doc back home to remove it) then add a few days to your stay. However, when he came to my hotel and removed it I realized I could have done it myself! Fear of the unknown I guess. My husband came down for the few extra days and we stayed at an all inclusive in the hotel zone. Suggestion about the drain removal.... make sure you have sanitary napkins or something to put in your compression garment as that area will continue to drain for 24 hours or longer. I am home now for about 2 days and am still sore but getting around. I will post pictures at some point! All in all my experience was a very good one and I am pleased so far with my outcome.
