Scar update please?
March 12, 2022
This is one of the most helpful posts on this procedure! Thank you very much! I wish you could tell me, how long did the feeling of hard lump in your belly last? I hope you can answer, thanks!

What yep of scar treatment did you do?
March 20, 2022
I had my surgery 3 months ago. It’s the best decision I’ve made. I’m a mother of 4 and no amount of exercise helped. My stomach wasn’t very big but I had a lot of loose skin. I also had hernia and severe diastasis recti. I still can’t believe the results. The new level of confidence alone is well worth it.

Almost a year post op

C_stang
Just an update with some photos. I have really stepped up working out - kickboxing 3x a week plus weight training and running 8-10 miles each week. I have gained a ton of muscle and have completely relearned how to love my body after this surgery. Also including a photo of my scar that is completely lightened!!

You look great! Question for you, when did you notice the most significant change in swelling? I am 7 weeks post op, and by the end of the day, even with compression garment on, I feel so swollen that if someone could poke me with a pin I would pop like a balloon, lol. The morning I am digging the way everything looks, but by night it is so swollen.
April 8, 2021
My swelling did not decrease significantly until right at 5-6 months.

I go to Dr. Colgrove this month for my consultation, and he is the only ps I'm doing a consult with. Every patient I've seen from his office looks flawless and natural! You look amazing!! Since you had your tt in June, how long did you have to wait to be able to swim, and how was it being summer and having to be in something around the clock in the heat?
May 14, 2021
So the heat sucked, for sure. The binder def was hot but I stayed inside a lot Bc I have sweating lol. I just checked and my survey was June 4 and I went to the pool for the first time July 29. So I waited 8 weeks which was right around the time he told me I didn't have to wear any compression anymore :) hope that helps!
May 14, 2021
So many typos in this (eye roll) hate* sweating, surgery* was June 4.
May 14, 2021
That helps a lot! I'm hoping for September, but was going to shoot for June if possible, but I have a beach trip scheduled mid July. I'll stick with September! Thank you so much!! How were you at 5 mpo? I've got a Jamaica trip planned and it would fall right at the 5 month mark. Hoping I can enjoy some excursions while I'm there.
May 14, 2021
I went to Mexico 5 months post op (in November) and I was a sexy a** b**ch and knew it :) you'll love you're results at that point and they still just keep getting better!
May 14, 2021
Yay!!!! Now I'm even more excited!!! Thank you!!

What did you use for your scars to lighten?

Here is an paste photo of my scar and stomach. Holidays have put on about 5lbs of weight, sooo don’t judge haha but I’m back to hitting the gym hard. My scar is lightening a lot, it’s so low I don’t notice it in anything. I’m still absolutely in love with my results and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for doing that!! How do you feel about the scar? Does it cause you any insecurity at all, or is all of the other good feelings about your stomach enough to compensate? I'm just worried myself about my own scar once I do this.
January 28, 2021
Not even remotely self conscious about the scar at all, you can't see it unless I'm completely naked and just my husband sees that hahaha. It's not even comparable to how I felt about my stomach before the surgery. I don't regret a single thing and my scar is really lightening up at 8 months post op, but a year I think it will be barely noticeable

Thank you for replying to my questions. I know I will feel so much better if I get this done. I'm tired of letting my stomach control my life, which is pretty much where I'm at. Boyfriend wants to go to Florida and I can't be excited about it because my first thought is great, suits and tank tops that don't hide my belly. How about Alaska? That's nice this time of year! :)))))

Great results! Did you lose any feeling from the lipo?
February 4, 2021
Not from the lipo no. But it is like almost guaranteed you lose some feeling below your belly button until your scar (almost like a little triangle area) with a tummy tuck. Sometimes it comes back and sometimes it doesn't. It has not come back for me but it's a small area and I knew it would happen. Doesn't other me at all. I didn't lose any feeling from where I had lipo.
February 17, 2021
the total was $9.100or is missing to include something else
February 18, 2021
The inclusive cost of the surgery was $9100. Included everything as this dr has his own surgery center.

so you went into surgery at 143 (you lost 5lbs between the 1month pre op to operation day), can i ask what you ended up weighing after the swelling went down? I am 5'3, 143lbs but have a very different body type than you, lots more fat and loose skin in the mid section, and i know you said they removed alittle over 2lbs from the tummy tuck and additional from the lipo, just curious what your healed weight ended up being (other than the 5lbs you added back on during the holiday).
March 31, 2021
I went into surgery 143, I came out around 147 with the swelling. However once I was cleared to work out I have really stepped it up in this last year - and I have put on a lot of weight strictly in terms of muscle. I do rigorous kickboxing 3x a week, weight training and running 10 miles a week. I know my weight now is all muscle because I religiously track measurements. Right now I weight 155 and look the best I ever have, my waist has maintained a consistent measurement of 28 since surgery. My hips (where my scar lays) has also had a consistent measurement since surgery - so I can say my weight is indicative of muscle gains only. I also, since my surgery, have stopped being so obsessed with my weight - I was very obsessed before. Now I take measurements and judge myself based on how I look and feel. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response. I am so afraid to work out. mainly bc when I lose weight it comes from my boobs first and I don't want to lose my boobs, I am also getting a lift while under for the tummy tuck. I completely agree it is definitely not about what you weigh but how you feel, and I tell myself that all the time. At the end of the day I just want to look in the mirror and be happy with the body I see, regardless of what the scale says. I lost about 30lbs over the last 6 months and am hovering at that 143 mark and I feel happy there, in regards to my butt, thighs, boobs and the rest of my body. In my head I really want to lose more weight but its only bc i carry most of my fat in my stomach. I keep having to tell myself, your happy with the rest of your body, don't go crazy and workout and lose your boobs and have to pay $4k more to add implants. If I just stay where I am, things will be good after surgery.
March 31, 2021
I did it have anything done to my breasts but I will say, after surgery any fat I did gain went straight to my boobs, I have grown almost 2 full cup sizes since my surgery and for some reason exercise has not touched them (normally I was like you and lost my boobs instantly) I don't know the reason or the silence behind it but I'm not complaining. I just posted a new update with photos :)

Didn't* Science* not silence. I hate this apps lack of autocorrect and then can't edit your own comment when you see typos!!
