Had my consultation today! Dr. Colgrove and his staff seem really wonderful! Scheduled my surgery today with Dr. Colgrove. Feeling super excited but super nervous!! June 5th, 2020.
Here the before pics! Hoping to lose another 5lbs before the date.
For reference I'm 30 years old, 5'4 and 148lbs.
I've had two kids and am definitely done!

Labs today!

Went and got my labs today. It’s getting so close and feeling so real. It’s a strange feeling when you’ve only “thought” about procedure like this for years and now it’s 25 days away. Lots of ups and down with anxiety since I’ve never had general anesthesia or really any medical procedure besides my births (those weren’t even c-sections lol)
Getting super real. I’m extremely excited. Went a little crazy on amazon, or a walker - toilet seat height with bars - a huge orthopedic pillow concoction (looks comfier than a recliner) - and a front zipper robe lol
Feeling prepared. Pre-op will be March 26th!

How exciting! What I’ve found useful in my recovery so far is the female urinal from Amazon. It makes it easy to pee While standing with your compression garment on.
I also have been using a stool to get in and out of bed since my bed is a little on the high side. Good luck!!

Ah that makes sense!! I got the raised toilet seat so I won't have to bend hardly at all and then the bars on the side should help me support myself haha seemed a bit overkill in addition to the walker I ordered, but trying to make it all as easy as possible!

Gotcha. If your compression garment is anything like mine it will be a lot of work to take on and off every time you have to pee. It has a hole in the crotch so you could probably pee sitting down but it could get messy. That’s why the urinal helps because it prevents a mess. I really only take off my compression garment once a day right now because of how sore my sides are and the amount of work it takes to put back on. It wears me out.

Pre-op today!
C_stangMay 26, 2020
Went to my pre op today and it calmed my nerves more than I expected. The nurse was amazing, she went through everything and didn’t sugar coat so I feel super prepared for this. Her best advice was “there are no heroes with this surgery” and that taking it easy is so important. She’s so right and her aftercare and post op instructions were clear and concise and I feel so amazing about it. I got a personalized book with all my information and instructions, and again - I feel ready as ever. 10 days and counting. I’m so excited!
Also I have managed to lose the last 5lbs I wanted to going into this! I also will take updated “before” photos and measurements I’ll post the day before surgery! I’m really excited to see the differences once this is over and healed over time!
