6 weeks post op and I am amazed daily with the results

I have been consolidating all my thoughts over the last 6 months in anticipation of writing about my experience with Dr. Amaka. I have 2 amazing children, who are now in high school and college. I have always been active, went to college on a softball scholarship and remember being in the gym even while pregnant with my, now college, daughter. Once I had her, I was right back at the gym. I counted calories, tried Keto, Shaun T workouts (lol) …. literally everything. The same with my son. I just wanted my pre baby body back and it wasn’t happening. I have been thinking about the surgical approach for the last 10 years, then always talked myself out of it because risks associated and thought, how selfish of me for putting myself in that situation given I had a family to raise, who depended on me, so I continued the dieting and exercise. Once the kids were older, I revisited the thought a couple years ago. I had consultations with 3 plastic surgeons, received quotes and there was just something missing about putting my life in their hands. I felt I was just another case, it was just another job. So again, I put the thought off to the side until about 6 months ago. You know they say the best things sometimes happen when you aren’t even looking. I was flipping through TikTok (the app I said I would never download) and I came across Dr. Amaka on my FYP. This woman appeared with a bright smile, from Nashville AND a board certified plastic surgeon? This I had to investigate. I immediately followed, connected to her Instagram and got lost in all the posts and videos. The transparency in the procedures, I mean the woman draws pictures to explain! The honesty in the results, the story of why she was called to do it, her life as a mom - all spiritually guided was unlike anyone else I had ever come across. On top of all that, Dr Amaka is super down to earth, great sense of humor, literally loves life. This all led me to schedule the consultation to discuss Lipo and a tummy tuck. We talked about a mini TT, would it address what I was trying to accomplish, we decided on the full. I was undecided on whether I needed Lipo 360 or just my abdomen and flanks, Dr. Amaka guided me through that and the different options and results. She didn’t think I needed 360 (my point is, she didn’t try and do what I didn’t need) She listened and heard what I was unhappy about, asked me what my expectations were and gave me an honest opinion about how I would be restored. I left that office with an appointment for surgery. I must say, she is everything, and more, of what I saw on her socials. Oh, and I would be remiss to not mention the staff – welcoming, attentive, and kind. Any questions I had between consultation and surgery day were quickly answered by Victoria. The week before my surgery we met again to finalize the plan and I was given all my post op directives, and a bag of everything I would need for my recovery. Surgery day I was made to feel at ease, I wish I could remember everyone’s name because they all were amazing. The anesthesiologist was awesome. He asked me how I was feeling, asked if I had any concerns, and assured me he was going to take great care of me (and he did). When I woke up in recovery, the nurse that was with me was great. She, and Dr. Amaka, walked me out to my car. The next day, I received a visit from the home nurse Lisa. Lisa checked my wounds, pain levels and took me through what I needed to do over the next few weeks. She also texted me throughout the next couple weeks to check on me. She is the best! Yesterday was my 6 week post op appointment and I am amazed daily with the results. I did everything that the team recommended I do, including the lymphatic massages. My feeling is, she gave me what I asked and it’s now up to me to continue the work to get the best result. I waited a long time and I would say I wished I did it sooner, but then I wouldn’t have found Dr. Amaka, so this is what was meant for me. I cannot express how thankful I am that I downloaded that TikTok app and Dr. Amaka came across my page. I always comment that she is the GOAT. Everything she said would happen is and I am really excited to see what my results will be at 6 months. 5 stars isn’t enough.
