My tummy tuck journey! Only two weeks away

I had liposuction with a fat to breast transfer in 2016 (see my other reviews) but the outcome was not what I hoped it would be. Y'all ever seen those people who can "push out" their stomach (to the point they look pregnant), and suck it back it and look normal? Well I can do that lol. So even on an empty stomach, it still looks like I have a full belly lol. Well, throughout my dozen or so consultations, a doctor finally explained to me that I have a mild case of diastasis recti. I've never had children, nor have I been pregnant, but my stomach muscles have stretched far beyond their means, due to a ridiculous amount of "over eating" throughout my teens and 20s. Eating until I was full, and then eating even more. Which is most likely why I was not happy with the ending result of my liposuction. My bulge is coming from stretched out muscles, and not JUST subcutaneous fat. So I'm getting a tummy tuck! Researched a whole mess of doctors all across Florida. Finally settled on one right in my own hometown, Dr. Audrey Farahmand. So far so good. Put down my deposit. Got very lucky and managed to get a surgical date only two weeks away, because somebody had to reschedule theirs. Yay for me! Just had my yearly physical last week, so my blood work was already done. I will have one virtual preop consultation this Friday, one preop consultation in person, and then surgery is September 2nd! Will update frequently, just like with my other procedures. Please note, it’s currently 8pm, I haven’t eaten since breakfast, and I still look like I just ate a huge meal.
I’m reallyyyyyyyyyy hoping that this doctor is incredibly aggressive when it comes to the liposuction portion of the surgery.

24 hours from now I’m going to be in a crap load of pain. LOL. Well I hope not, but prepare for the worst and hope for the best, right?

Had my last preop with her on Monday. To be honest I left feeling kind of nervous. She told me that I shouldn’t expect to see anything more than a 20% reduction in my “bulge“. She said that she couldn’t do liposuction to the rolls underneath my boob, because that’s where a blood supply source is? And she pretty much made me feel like I shouldn’t expect a drastic difference.

Whereas ALL the other plastic surgeons I spoke to, drew all over me with markers, and gave me probable waist measurements, and offered me different shapes for my belly buttons, and showed me a ton of pictures to choose from… and so on and so forth.

My doctor did none of that. I mean.. she did her fellowship at the mayo clinic, so she’s obviously good…. guess I’m just kind of taken aback by how much the other consultations were in depth, and she wasn’t? Like you’re not even gonna tell me what my belly button is going to look like? You’re not even gonna give me options? You’re not gonna go over photos with me? So weird. Really hope she is worth the price tag, and her work is as impressive as her educational records….

Oh well. It’s paid for so I’m doing it. Hopefully she is just trying to be careful with her words because she’s afraid I’m going to accuse her of not living up to her promises or something. Oh well. No more food and drink after midnight, surgery is at noon tomorrow. Wish me luck!
