I never thought I'd get this done because I thought if I had enough willpower, I could lose enough weight to not need to do it. I was also afraid of the scar. But after terrible liposuction to my upper and lower abdomen about 5 years ago, no matter what I do, my stomach is jiggly.
It got worse on a low carb diet so I went off it and gained back everything plus more.
After searching RealSelf doctors in the entire United States, I found Dr. Reish. The consultation was over FaceTime because I'm in a different state. He seems really nice and knowledgeable, gives out his cell phone number and responds to texts/emails quickly. He also performs a lot of tummy tucks and the results in the gallery look great so I'm scheduling surgery for February 7th.
Since I used the reviews of other people to make my decision, I know how helpful they are and I want to pay it forward by sharing my journey.

Congratulations on scheduling surgery!

That is an interesting way of looking at it...I like to pay it forward right to the MD's pocket lol. A good recommendation after surgery or even before would be to get a personal trainer to help you achieve and maintain your weight goals...Paleo diet etc.

You don't know what you're talking about

Reviews without pictures are useless. I'm paying it forward by posting this review to help people who are considering this procedure with this doctor. If you had read my review, you'd know I already tried a low carb diet (for a year) and exercise. The more weight I lost, the worse my stomach looked. There are some things diet and exercise can't fix which is why I'm doing a tummy tuck. I know I posted this online so jerks are going to feel like they have the right to make assumptions and comments on my body and I guess I can't stop it but all I can say is that you really shouldn't assume anything about anyone.

2 days post op

Cutituplikeaham
Oh man. I do not feel like I was at all prepared for this surgical recovery. I'm two days post op. I have not had an appetite at all. I've taken the percocet 3 times and I'm trying not to anymore because I haven't pooped in a few days so that is adding to my nausea. I got the exparel but I don't think it started working until today. Yesterday (1 day post op) was the worst. I feel like I'm ripping my stomach every time I get up to do anything but I have to walk every 4 hours to prevent clots/DVT. I'm in the stage where I am mad at myself for doing this to myself. Some positives- I was told that he was able to remove all of the hip tattoos so I won't have any awkward leftover. Dr. Reish did text me the night and morning after the procedure to see how I was. He really seems to care which I have not encountered in a plastic surgeon. Usually after they get the money and do the procedure, I never hear from them again. I was told I had almost 2 liters liposuctioned out which doesn't seem like a lot for someone my size but I trust his judgement. I will post pictures when I feel better.

Thank you for reading. Hopefully my experience will help you

Welcome :) Thank you for reading my review. I was hoping it would help someone. I completely recommend Dr. Reish. The only negative is that the "complications" seem more common than not and it is scary being so far away from New York. If I end up with a seroma and have to get it drained 2x/week, that is $250 a visit with a local plastic surgeon. It could get expensive very quickly. But hopping on a plane for a 5-6 hour flight isn't that realistic either. Hopefully you live in New York

Pain and nausea better

Cutituplikeaham
The pain is better today. I haven't had a pain pill since the day after surgery. It is already a lot less uncomfortable to get up and move around now. I was nauseous and dry heaving all day yesterday but it stopped after I forced myself to eat last night (I'd had zero appetite so I was taking the antibiotics on a basically empty stomach).
