Incredible doctor and staff - Dr. Steinwald is a true artist and you are his canvas!

I had plastic surgery with Dr. Paul Steinwald in May of 2021. While I initially was thrilled to death with my results, my after care (of lack there of) was a joke!! I may be a rare case as my recovery didn't quite go as planned, but, if you think this center, their nurses or doctors give a crap about you once you have paid them - you are sadly mistaken!! To recap: At my one week consult, I didn't even see the doctor! Something at the time I thought was odd, but, just went along with because everything was so new. By my 6 week appointment, I still couldn't raise my arms higher than shoulder length!!! Apparently, the nurse had missed cutting out some incisions in my under arm (which was restricting my mobility) at my one week and my body had tried to "heal" over them. Doc literally had to dig them out. Very uncomfortable, but, I at least I could finally raise my arms! I still had many questions that day, but my entire appointment time with the doctor was less than 15 minutes! By my three month appointment, I tried to explain to the doctor my daily discomfort and limited mobility. My arms were still numb and tingly, my abs were still insanely swollen and my upper thighs were still hard. Side note - I had an extended arm lift, an extended tummy tuck with lipo and a minor upper thigh lift. As usual, he told me just to "give it time". From 6 weeks to 12 weeks, I had called the nurse line almost every other day with questions about my lack of healing. From new bruising to pain to openings in my scars! Every time, I was told to just "Give it time". Around the 5-6 month mark, my body was STILL "spitting" stiches and my tummy tuck incision actually started to bleed in a small spot. Horrified, I again called the nurses line who just said the tummy tuck wound was a surface wound and to not worry about. She finally said "You are a unique case as no one has ever NOT healed by the almost 6 month mark. Honestly, we just don't know what to do with you"! At that, I cancelled all my upcoming appointments and never went back. I hit my one year mark this May and I STILL have tummy swelling and arm numbness/pain. I have actually made an appointment with a different surgeon at a completely different location to get a second opinion and see if a revision is needed or if permanent damage has been done! I asked Doctor Steinwald's head nurse if I had nerve damage. Just knowing the cause of the pain at least would have prompted me to try to find other solutions. But, they would NEVER admit fault or actually care about any of my concerns... the answer was ALWAYS just give it time and wait until your one year! Do your research and shop around! Make sure you surgeon isn't in it to just build a photo portfolio!!!

I had plastic surgery with Dr. Steinwald and I couldn’t be happier! I chose Dr. Steinwald for many reasons, but, one was he was willing to listen to me and accommodate my requests. I had an initial consultation, years prior, with a different doctor at a different facility. That doctor wouldn’t do my requested procedures all at the same time nor would he do the extent I had wished; I desired an extended arm lift and extended tummy tuck.

That doctor told me they don’t do that and that “I need to accept my body and quit being so hard on myself”!!! I was so shocked and turned off by that surgeon that I waited another two years before seeking out a second consultation with other plastic surgeons. I was referred to “The Center for Cosmetic Surgery” by a friend. While she highly recommended her doctor, I asked specifically for the doctor who specializes in body contouring after massive weight loss. Without hesitation, the receptionist said Dr. Steinwald!

Once I met with Dr. Steinwald, I was hooked!! Not only did I have loose skin from massive weight loss six years prior, but I suffered from scars, abnormalities and scar tissue from previous abdominal surgeries from when I was a kid. Dr. Steinwald was actually familiar with my diagnosis from back then, which sealed the deal for me. Not only is he a skilled plastic surgeon, he is all-around incredibly knowledgeable!! Lastly, he was confident in performing all procedures at the same time!

To me, that spoke to his experience and confidence in his work! The one surgeon that wouldn’t do all procedures at the same time tells me he doesn’t have the skill or experience to do so! Now I’m not going to lie, Dr. Steinwald was NOT the cheapest. But there are certain things in life I won’t skimp on and plastic surgery is one of them! You may get what you pay for in that department!

I had an extended brachioplasty (arm lift), an extended abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with lipo to the hips and back and a minor upper thigh lift with lipo on the outer thigh. Tiffany was my nurse the morning of surgery and she was EXCEPTIONAL!! Because of my arm lift, my IV was supposed to be in my foot. For some reason, that really freaked me out. She was so very understanding! She went above and beyond and made the IV happen in my arm! She was amazing.

My anesthesiologist was Darin (I think…there was a lot going on that morning). He was OUTSTANDING! He had such a calming demeanor and was by far the best anesthesiologist I have ever come across. I am no stranger to surgeries and the worse part of waking up is the excruciating sore throat from the breathing tube! I woke up from this procedure in complete comfort and NEVER had a sore throat at all! Darin was absolutely the BEST!

I honestly didn’t know what to expect in regards to my results. I wanted to be realistic, but was excited at the thought of a contoured and tight shape! Dr. Steinwald EXCEEDED all my expectations. My incisions are so tiny, perfectly straight and placed completely out of sight!! My arms scars are literally on the bottom of my arm where you cannot see them! My under arm scars follow the natural shape of my body versus cutting straight down.

My abdominal incision is low, perfectly thin, flat and complimenting to my shape. I was worried I would end up “boxy” as I have seen from some other tummy tucks. Not at all! Dr. Steinwald is a true artist and you are his canvas!!! I am beyond thrilled and highly recommend him, his staff and the beautiful facility.
