Hope You Don’t Need Revisions

This is really hard to write because overall, I feel my surgery went well, and obviously I look better than I did preop to my tummy tuck and breast reduction, but I’m disappointed after going in about a couple revision things, and was brushed off. I don’t know why I’m surprised when my aftercare was lacking from the beginning with Dr. Coscia. I had poor healing on my right hip and made repeated appointments with the office and was told “it just needs time” but also it had yellow pus coming out of pockets, so that needs antibiotics? I’m an RN, I know an infected wound when I see one- and the few times I was given antibiotics it DID clear up, but I had to nearly beg for them. I know it maybe wasn’t a normal situation, but the pushback I received was frustrating and delayed the healing and my return to work, and made for a rough looking scar.

I had paid extra for lipo on my inner thighs and from right after surgery, I had mentioned that it seems like not much lipo was done but obviously had other priorities like an open wound and was told to wait until the swelling goes down which can take 6 + months- so it took a seat on the back burner while my hip was repeatedly opening. I also had a weird ridge on my extended TT ends which gives my butt a shelf like look- but again- other priorities and maybe it was swelling? In April of 2025 I called to schedule a follow up since he has wanted me to wait 12-15 months for final healing. Next available appointment that worked for me was in August.

I’ve probably gained 5-7 lbs since my surgery, nothing crazy on my frame- I can gain 5lbs in a day. I went to the appointment to discuss the problem areas to just be told that all the areas I had concerns about were from weight gain (mind you, I’ve only gained this weight in the last 4ish months after I had already made this appointment) so these issues pre-dated that. Also, how did I gain weight on my inner thigh if lipo was done?? Basically I was told none of it was going to be covered and a revision and was sent to their scheduler to get an estimate for 10,100. Like what? I wasn’t expecting everything to be completely free, but I also wasn’t expecting unfinished work to be charged at full cost. Now I’m sitting here looking at my before, after, and now pictures and I still don’t see a difference between any of them, and I certainly didn’t have a shelf on my ass before surgery.

This is just disappointing as a patient who spent almost 20k on a procedure plus to basically be told “goodluck.”
