Dr Nigel Carver, Wonderful Experience

Just a little background, I am a 55 year old woman that has had two children and although I am a none smoker and like going to the gym I thought I would be too old to consider having a abdominoplasty, (tummy tuck). I had spent a year researching and even had a consultation with another surgeon that just didn’t feel right to me but after meeting Dr Carver for the first time at our consultation he made me feel totally at ease and I just knew I wanted to go through with the surgery. I arranged to have the surgery at One Hatfield Hospital and the day of the surgery I was a little nervous, Dr Carver came to see me in my room in the morning and put me at ease yet again. After the operation I was comfortable with a small drain coming out of one side of the wound and I was fitted with a catheter. All of which was totally painless and nothing to worry about, Dr Carver also came to my room to check that I was doing well. I stayed in hospital for two days and was so well looked after, I left a separate review for the hospital as they are amazing there. The first week of recovery is the most uncomfortable, not being able to stand straight, can’t bend down to far either, trying to lower yourself on the toilet and sleeping on your back with your legs bent and supported is tiresome. I also found that by day 5 the swelling got a little uncomfortable to the point I was worried and called the hospital to speak to Dr Carver, after sending him some pics and talking to him on the phone everything was as it should be. But I am now 8 weeks down the road of recovery and feeling amazing, every morning I look at my tummy in amazement, it’s early days still so yes my tummy dose swell slightly by the end of the day but I had my last consultation with Dr Carver this morning and he assures me this will settle down. I can’t thank Dr Carver enough for giving me my confidence back, I can now wear the figure hugging dresses i once loved but had to stop wearing, I don’t feel like I have to hide my belly under over sized clothes, and can’t wait to book my first holiday. If you are thinking of having a tummy tuck I can honestly say make a consultation appointment with Dr Carver I am so pleased I did.
