Dr. Fortes is Awesome!

I'm a 34 year old former collegiate swimmer and a mother of four beautiful children, ages 10, 8 and 3 year old twins.

I first saw Dr. Fortes for a breast augmentation back in 2014 when my second child was 2 and done nursing. I liked my breasts but wanted them fuller like they were when I was nursing. Dr. Fortes did not disappoint and they look fantastic! They look very natural and I have gotten compliments from friends that I disclosed my breast augmentation to that they never would have known had I not told them. My biggest reservation to getting the surgery was that I may not be able to nurse any future children as my husband and I were not 100% sure we were done expanding our family. I explained this to Dr. Fortes and he did a great job with placement and size recommendation and did not damage my natural breast tissue so in 2017 when my twins were born, I was able to nurse both of them with no issues for over a year.

I saw Dr. Fortes again in 2020 over concerns with abdominal laxity. I was fortunate enough to be able to carry all of my babies to the 39 week mark or beyond, and all of them were over 8 pounds and routine vaginal deliveries. However, carrying two 8 pound babies at once during my last pregnancy definitely did a number on my body (and subsequently my self esteem).

I didn't have a ton of stretch marks, and the ones I did have were faded, but my upper stomach was definitely looser than what it was with my prior singleton pregnancies and my belly button had a small amount of skin hang that I didn't have before. I also had a lot of abdominal instability and a small "pooch" that wasn't going away no matter how much weight I lost or how many diastasis related exercises I did to try and build back my core strength. I found myself not doing a lot of the things I used to do exercise wise because of how unstable I felt with things that caused my abdominal muscles to "cone" and also because of urinary stress incontinence when I ran or jumped. I had previously entered family fun runs and did a lot of HIIT classes but after my twins, I just felt very unstable. I also struggled to hold/lift/carry my younger two for longer than a few minutes at a time because of burning and coning in my umbilical area. So I went in for a consult to see if there was anything I could do about my belly button and to ask if liposuction might help get rid of my under belly button pooch.

He recommended a tummy tuck and at first I was just not sure about having it done. It took me a few months to come around to the idea because I didn't have any lower abdominal scars from prior c-sections. You definitely see a lot of gnarly looking tummy tuck scars online and I did NOT want that!

I finally took the leap and got a tummy tuck a few months ago and I am so glad I did! To be honest, had I known how much better my core and back would feel, I would have had this done prior to my twin pregnancy and then had it done again (if need be) after them! It is crazy how much better my abs feel just getting out of bed, let alone walking/running/lifting weights/lifting my kids, etc. And the biggest surprise was that my stress incontinence is completely gone. No bladder leakage at all from running, jumping, coughing, sneezing etc. I am not typically a person that is easily embarrassed or self-conscious, but I guess I didn't even realize how much it bothered me or how much of an issue diastasis recti caused me until I no longer had to deal with it and could get back to being my normally athletic/active self.

I also had liposuction on my inner and outer thighs and he used the fat from those areas to restore volume loss in my lips and cheeks (way cheaper and more effective than fillers!) and upper breast area. He did an amazing job with these areas as well and I look more youthful and very natural without looking like I've had work done.

I'm sure as my kids get into their teenage years and beyond, they will bestow me with more wrinkles and a happy (but more tired) mommy look, so if and when that occurs, I know I will definitely be a repeat patient of Dr. Fortes. He's highly credentialed, very attentive to detail and you can tell from interacting with him that he enjoys the artistry involved in his work. I'm fully confident that he will both keep me safe and have me looking my best no matter what the procedure. Thank you again Dr. Fortes!
