I had spent over 2 years losing weigh and getting in shape, but after 2 pregnancies, one of which was C-section, I was left with a shelf and pudginess that didn’t even look like I’d bothered turning up to the gym. I turned 50 this year and had felt that I was in the best shape of my life…….apart from the tummy.
This is the point where I tell you that I quite literally have the best husband in the world!!!! He turned around to me one day after I’d gotten all upset over it and said, ‘you’ve worked really hard for this, if it’s upsetting you that much, let’s go and talk to someone about it.’ Then my research started; initially I was only considering Lipo and was looking into a system called skintite, but then I came to realize that I would still be left with the saggy skin.
My original research had already lead me to Dr. Gilardino, I don’t know what it was, but I just felt comfortable with him do once we met I knew I didn’t need to see anyone else; after all, if the head of plastics at McGill university who specialized in paediatric cranio-facial reconstruction couldn’t get it right, no one could. So I travelled from Ottawa to Montréal to meet him and take his advice on what to do to my body. What was most important about that meeting was that he put both of us at ease and we ended up pulling the date forward from January 2022 to November 2021.
I have done so much research on the who, what, when & why if what I needed so what I want to do is to share with you what I used, what worked, what didn’t etc. Before surgery I read that it was a good idea to do the plank photo challenge to see how much they will remove and tighten so this picture is what I hope to upload as well as a few other before pictures. I hope you’ll follow my journey and benefit from the information I share.

Day 4 post op - not a good day

Today has been bad so I’m hopeful that tomorrow will be better. I finally had a bowel movement so hoping that’s the start of normality in that department again. I’m totally exhausted and this has been in a whole different level compared to a c-section recovery and no cute baby to occupy your time. Photos of day of surgery

I'm so sorry. I heard that it gets worse before it's better. Maybe this is the worst day, and you will be feeling better tomorrow. Just stay on top of the pain medication. Also having a bowel movement surely will help. Feel better I just keep imagining how great you are going to look once you are totally healed!

Good luck and I will be rooting for you
