I don't even know where to begin.... This Is going to be long but if you don't feel like reading my full review just know that Dr Magge is everything one could hope for in a surgeon. I jokingly have started calling him "The Magician"! I look better now than I did at 25!
The Review:
After having 2 babies, I was left with a severe diastasis recti. I lost 25lbs, started powerlifting and going to the gym 4-5 days a week. While I became strong over those 5 years I still looked 6 months pregnant! I have had deal chronic back pain which over the years has affected my work, sleep, and many other things. I have seen PTs, chiropractors and even an acupuncturist over the years to see if I could get rid of this bulge and the pain. After 10 years of seeing specialiy and 5 years of working my ass in the gym, I threw in the towel! I had to have this surgery.
October 2018, I started going to consults. Dr Magge was the 3rd consult I went to and I almost didn't go! I liked the results from the 2nd doctor I visited. He was nice enough and knowledgeable. My husband said "well you already have a consult set up, you knight as well go!" I am so happy I listened to my husband for a change, LOL The CSA office is beautiful and bright and the front desk staff was very nice to me. The process of having to let someone you don't know look at your "disfigured" body is humiliating in itself but Dr Magge is very professional yet very friendly. I'm an extrovert and talk A LOT but he let me talk and he answered all my questions without ever rushing me. I'm a bit of a science geek so when he offered to show me some of the videos from the operating room, I was all in! I still watch the videos he post on Instagram! After my meeting with Dr Magge, I sat with his patient coordinator Joanne. Again, she was very nice, helpful and answered my addition questions. I left the office feeling great!
I told my husband how amazing I thought Dr Magge was to which he gloated and said, "see, aren't you glad you listened to me!" LOL
Anyway, I had 2 more consults after that. One I went to and it was like night and day! I just did not like this guy at all! The last one I canceled because I made up my mind! Magge was the one! Plus the handwritten Thank You note after my visit helped, LOL I had no doubts but I did have a few more questions for him. He called me one evening after I left a message with Joanne and few days later I put my deposit down for June 2019. That was the scariest part! This surgery isn't cheap but you get what you pay for!
Over the course of the next 6 months I saved, researched, watched Magge's Instagram page :-) continued to go to the gym and prep myself the best I could.
My next appt was 2 weeks before my surgery date and that was with his nurse Tiffany. Again, very nice and very thorough! This is major surgery so whatever they told me to do or not do, I listened. I ended up purchasing the recovery vitamins and supplements from their office to start taking as instructed. My prescriptions were sent in to my pharmacy and I was ready to go!
The night before my surgery I was panicking! I cried when my parents came to pick up my kiddos and that guilt of feeling like I'm being selfish set in. I don't sleep a wink! I was anxious when I got to the office at 7am but my husband and my sister where there to support me. Once in the building and in the room my nerves just left me. I was cracking jokes with the staff, nurses and other doctors. I'm pretty sure they thought my family and I were crazy but they played along. Dr Magge came in took pictures and very meticulously drew all the lines on me for surgery then took more pictures. Prep time took about an hour and a half. After I met with the anesthesiologist, I said by to my family and they walked me back to the OR. Again disrobing in a room full of people can be a bit much but everyone was professional and friendly! The OR was cold but they put a warm blanket over me. Me being me, I was cracking jokes and talking about Game of Thrones with some of the nurses and that's the last thing I remember!
I woke up about 4 hours later feeling drunk as hell! The first thing I remember saying is "do I look hot?" LOL They have my husband his instructions and we were headed home by 2. I don't remember much about the recovery room or the ride home but getting in the house and up the stairs was ROUGH!!!! That evening Dr Magge called to check on me. I was so out of it I was probably speaking gibberish! The first 5 days were hard but the numbing medication and the pain pump helped a lot. I never had to use the narcotics he prescribed. I was fine with Extra strength Tylenol, the muscle relaxers and the vitamins and supplements that I bought from them.
I had a follow up with Nurse Tiffany one week after the operation. I was still sore and hunched over but I was feeling much better than I did a week ago. She took out my drain which didn't hurt at all and showed me some exercises I could do to help me stand straighter. I also purchased the scar strips they had at the office although I couldn't start using them until the following week.
I looked in the mirror after only week with some minimal swelling a broke down into tears! I sent him a picture and said thank you! I didn't think I would ever look normal again. I can not express how happy I am with him, the staff and these results!!!
This was my 40th birthday gift to myself. I deserve all of this! If I had to do it all over again, I would still choose Dr Magge. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Thank you for sharing! I have similar issues. Did your back pain improve after the surgery and healing?
August 11, 2019
So far it's much better! I'm only 8 weeks and just getting back into proper stretching and exercise so I hope it continues to get better. The few workouts I have don't this week feel so different... in a good way.

Thank you! My TT is scheduled for 9/20! I have significant back pain because of severe Diastasis so I am hopeful that it will improve.

Thank you! I wish I was but I have to do it local in Charlotte. I can only hope for results like yours :)

I'm sure you will look fabulous!
I think being in the gym 4 days a week for the past 5 years really helped with my results too.
Good luck!
