Belt Lipectomy - Life Changing

I underwent a belt lipectomy at Dr. Karkhanis’ clinic, and the results have truly changed my life. After losing a significant amount of weight (from 126 kilos), I was left with a lot of loose skin that affected both my confidence and comfort. This procedure has made an incredible difference.

For anyone unfamiliar, a belt lipectomy (also known as a lower body lift) is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen, lower back, hips, and buttocks. It's often recommended for patients who have experienced massive weight loss and want to contour their midsection more effectively. The incision typically runs around the hipd like a belt, allowing the surgeon to lift and tighten multiple areas in one procedure. The scar is well hidden under bathers, but isn't small, and requires scar modulation and potentially treatment to minimize as much as possible.

To my surprise, the surgery wasn’t painful. The only challenge in the early days was that it took a little time to stand up and walk properly, but that’s expected with this kind of operation. One thing I really appreciated was that my drains were removed in just under four days, which made recovery so much easier and more manageable.

Dr. Karkhanis is absolutely wonderful—not only is he highly skilled, but he’s also incredibly kind, patient, and professional. His team was equally lovely and supportive throughout the process, making me feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way.
