My experience with Dr. Illich Navarro and his team started with Ana. She was the first person I spoke with and guided me through the entire process, explaining what the surgery would entail and answering all of my questions. She arranged my Zoom consultation with Dr. Illich and later my personal consultation. I had the option to meet with everyone who would be part of my surgical team, which I really appreciated. From my first conversation with Dr. Illich, he made me feel so comfortable and at ease that I immediately knew he was the surgeon for me.
I had my tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction with Dr. Illich on June 13th. Since my surgery, I’ve had my two-week follow-up appointment as well as two additional in-person appointments because of concerns that came up during my recovery. Each time, Dr. Illich personally examined me, addressed my concerns, and made sure I knew what was going on and what I needed to do moving forward. I really appreciate that his care didn’t end once the surgery was over.
Sara was also amazing when an unexpected issue came up with my recovery home. The original recovery home I was supposed to stay at canceled, and Sara immediately took care of everything. She found me another recovery home and made all the arrangements so that I didn’t have to worry about anything during an already stressful time. Everything was handled for me, and I was able to focus on my recovery.
My recovery hasn’t been completely without challenges. I’ve had concerns with swelling, fluid and my drains, including problems with my drain bulb and later concerns about infection. Every time something came up, Dr. Illich and his team were available to guide me, answer my questions, and help me figure out what needed to be done. I never felt like I was left to deal with a problem on my own.
And a special thumbs up to Sara! She has been absolutely amazing throughout my recovery. She has taken so many of my calls when I’ve had concerns, even weeks after surgery, and has always been patient, helpful, and available when I’ve needed guidance.
Recovery from a major surgery isn’t always perfect or predictable, and that’s actually what has made me appreciate this team even more. It’s easy to be there when everything is going perfectly, but Dr. Illich and his team have continued to be there for me whenever I’ve had a concern or complication. I’m very grateful to Dr. Illich, Ana, Sara, and the entire team for the care and support they’ve given me throughout this whole experience.
