After several recommendations and extensive research, I chose Dr. Ak. From the start, contact with Rabia ( his assistent if i may call it that way? She is the best ! ) was incredibly quick and comprehensive. After losing almost 40 kilos, the doctor gave me the advice that i exactly expected: an extended tummy tuck and 360 lipo. With his beautiful scar work, I was confident enough to go for it. I also opted for a fat transfer to the side of my buttock/hip for some shape. Everything was explained thoroughly beforehand, and I received tips on what to do to prepare and what to bring to the hospital. Whenever I had a question, no matter what time, Rabia was there for me. On the day of the surgery, a blood test and a heart and lung test were taken. I had already checked my blood at home two months beforehand, so everything was fine. Dr. Ak puts safety first and won't operate if the blood counts are low! Which I think is a very good thing. After the results, I saw Dr. Ak for the final approval and to discuss my wishes again. Not long after, I went into surgery. All the nurses and doctors were incredibly kind and calming. When I was woken up, I thought I'd only been in there an hour, but it had already been almost six hours. I came out of the anesthesia very easily, while during another surgery in the Netherlands, I'd been woozy for half a day.
Everyone had warned me about the intense pain the first two days after the surgery, so I was prepared for a living hell, haha. But to be honest, it wasn't too bad. I had a paracetamol IV every six hours, and that was enough to take the edge off. The nurse asked if I wanted extra morphine, but I didn't think it was necessary, so I'd rather not have it. I stayed in the hospital for two nights, and the nurses, Beyza and others, were incredibly sweet and helpful. We had a good laugh in between. Dr. Ak came every day to check on my wounds, and the nurses also checked them while changing my bandages and sent photos to Dr. Ak. Rabia also comes by every now and then to check on you, which is really nice. I had surgery on Wednesday, and Friday afternoon I was allowed to go back to the hotel. It all went pretty well, actually. When I got back to the hotel, the fantastic Serpil came by an hour later for a light massage, a bandage change, and a shower! OMG, that was so nice. She's such a sweetheart and gives you all the tips on how best to lie down and move, and what to do for a good recovery. Her tips are truly invaluable. I'm only four days in, but I can almost stand up straight, I have almost no pain, and the fluid is slowly starting to drain. I'm so incredibly happy with this choice because the results are already fantastic. They're all incredibly kind, caring, and skilled people, and thanks to their care, I'm recovering incredibly well. The final result will take some time, of course, but I'm already incredibly happy and recommend Dr. Ak and his team to everyone!
