The reviews for The Hospital Group were good, and...

The reviews for The Hospital Group were good, and so I had a standard tummy tuck with The Hospital Group at Dolan Park after my Pregnancy. I noticed before much healing had happened that the belly button was placed too far to the left. Also there was no 'hood' as you'd have with a normal belly button - it was more like a slit. The Hospital Group staff Nurses and 'Patient Care Coordinators' told me to wait, and that things would straighten themselves out and I probably wouldn't even need to see the surgeon again.

Even though I was freaking out, and things weren't straightening themselves out at all, I waited. Then some problems (apparently called dog ears) appeared with the scar as healing progressed. It became evident that the scar needed some revision as well.

I thought it was going to be no problem - the reason I chose The Hospital Group is because they claimed before I signed on the dotted line that even though they're much more expensive, I wouldnt be paying for revisions or fixing bits misplaced during surgery. They actually said, "if there are any issues like dog ears or anything else, no problems. Don't worry. We'll fix it". They claim to be a premium provider...

Anyway, I spent 6 months chasing up the appointment with The Hospital Group to look at the revision. There was always some problem or reason why they couldn't book the appointment - admin issues, the person I need to speak with to book is away, we don't have Mr Sulaiman's diary, etc, or they just didn't bother to respond to my calls or emails.

Finally a few months ago I managed to nail down an appointment. It was with the same surgeon that had done the initial procedure. He said it was going to be no problem, and he would fix it in 20 minutes under local anaesthetic. I should just book it in with reception.

They offered me two dates in January, and, as I was already booked out for January, I asked for the February dates as soon as possible. As February has started to approach, and with my diary filling up with work commitments, I've started calling an emailing them again during January, and again I'm not getting any response at all. The excuses I've had this time around are are - 'we don't have the diary here', 'we don't know what the dates are', 'the person who gave you the dates for January has left', or most of the time they just don't bother getting back to me again.

So, because I didn't want to spend another summer hiding in a big swimming costume, especially given that I have already had surgery to fix the problem!, I made a complaint to The Hospital Group. The complaint was about the fact that they are giving me excuses and refusing to get back to me to do what they promised they would do.

And guess what..? I still haven't got an appointment. I still haven't got a response!

I'm really annoyed that I got sucked in to The Hospital Group and their talk about being able to go ahead with confidence.

I'll update when this is concluded, however that happens... For now I guess its a warning that they may not live up to their promises, no matter how good it sounds when you are looking for help!
