Tummy Tuck after 2 kids and weight gain

I was always skinny until my second son and a lung disease. The medicine made be balloon up to 225. After getting off the medicine I was able to lose weight and get back on track, however, I did lose the weight to fast and had some stubborn areas. I checked out a few doctors back in 2016 and then a few more in 2020. I decided that 2020 was my year after everything that I had been through over the years. Dr. Shermak was awesome.
She was always helpful and saw me extra time before surgery, which gave me the opportunity to add 2 more procedures. She completed a full tummy tuck with muscle repair and lipo, lipo on my chin, lipo on my thighs, and a peel on my face. I had an issue in recovery with my lungs and she stayed the entire time. I didn't end up leaving until almost 10 pm. She is the best doctor. You could immediately see results in my chin area and with the tummy tuck. I also was not in any pain. It was just a burning sensation when I moved too much. All in all, I am very pleased.

Impressive transformation!!! Would you mind telling me what weight you started at? We are quite similar. You can message me if you want.

I was at 225 at my highest a few years ago. On the day of my surgery I was at 159 and I'm 5'1" almost 5'2". Currently I'm between 150-152. I am still very swelled up.

Wow! We are so very similar! Congratulations on your incredible weight loss! I started at 215 in 2014 and stopped at around 178. I gained back 10 pounds between then and Jan, 2020. In January, I decided I had enough of the extra weight and started WW. I’m 5’ 5 1/2” and I’m at 154.8 today. We have quite similar builds as well so I was very curious how you were recovering, I would love to keep in touch with you and follow your transformation if you wouldn’t mind.

Thanks. I really have to give props to an amazing doctor. Dr. Shermak is the best in her field and has written books for teaching. You cold see the difference in every procedure she did right away. had really no pain after the surgery. Just the burning sensation, which was not all the time.

I am still very swelled in my opinion. I am 2 weeks post op today and will be going back to work Monday. I am now wearing a high waisted garment with mid thigh coverage per the doctor. My doctor said to get a small or medium. I was surprised it fit the medium fit since the size char said I should get a large.

Be prepared to settle in to a long recovery, swelling wise. I’m almost a year post op, and salt or my monthly visit swell me up to this day....a small rock hard pooch...not visible per say.....I can feel it, more than anyone can see it. I wouldn’t trade my results for the world, though. You look great. Next summer will be your playground.

Did you ever try a lymphatic massage? How long before you could go without shape wear or a binder.
June 10, 2020
I am high waisted, so I ditched the binder after my first Post-Op visit at 1 week, and switched to shape wear. I felt more comfortable and didn’t have the binder digging in to the bottoms of my breasts. Most of my swelling subsided between the 2-3 month mark. It is that last little bit, only perceptible to me, and only at certain times, that I still deal with. I stopped wearing the shape wear after my 6 week visit. I’d rather contend with a bit of swelling then allow my core muscles to weaken due to too much support. At that point, the only time the shape wear made a difference was upon waking. Otherwise, I’d swell the same amount whether in them or out. Everyone is different. Some appreciate more support. That isn’t me. I prefer the comfort of nothing except my jammies.

I didn’t do any lymphatic massage. My husband rubbed my belly sometimes. I have my 1 year coming up on the 15th. If the pics download this time, I’ll be sure to post. Or, I’ll make my husband snap a few. Lol.

Swelling is bad! Went to the doctor for my 3rd follow up and she wants me to use foam again. I find wearing my shape wear is not enough and the binder leaves marks. While at work I’m wearing an postpartum binder over the shapewear. This tops all swelling during the day, but as soon as the binder is off, I feel the hardness start.

I also had part of my incision open/irritated. Not infected. Just keeping it covered with Neosporin. On the plus my belly button is healed in 3.5 weeks.
