I have been feeling really good! Pretty much back to my old self (before kids!). I started working out 5-6 times a week and even doing a core workout. Everything feels good. I love seeing my progress and how much stronger I am feeling. I was always so limited on what activities I was able to do because of diastasis recti. Now I am waiting for that 6 pack to come through!

Feeling really great these days! In the past couple of weeks I have completely ditched the binders!!! I stopped wearing one at night, then took away the day one. I still get a little swollen but nothing terrible. These pictures were taken around 6 PM after a 3 mile run. Not much swelling. I don’t even wear one for workouts anymore. So happy I went through with the surgery!

What type of surgery was this ? I’ve had 3 kids & cant seem to loose my stomach. I’ve looked into this before but I think I’m more serious about this than I was then

I had muscle repair (had severe diastases recti- abdominal muscle separation), hernia repair, and tummy tuck. You can find YouTube videos to test to see if it have muscle separation.

I forgot to ask- at what point did you take off the binder completely. I’m wearing it during the day and starting to sleep without it. But I do feel like it’s very supportive.
Do you feel smaller at this point? I feel like most of my swelling is in my rib cage area by the end of the day. Do you feel any swelling still?

Hey! How are you feeling? I definitely feel the swelling has gone down but I still do have it. Some women say it lasts for a year. But I can say I have seen an improvement. I think I completely stopped wearing a binder about 3 weeks ago, so around the 3 month mark. I felt more secure with it on up that point. Now I feel fine without it. I hope you are doing well!

I’m doing well. Thanks for asking!! I’m at the 7 week point now. Still swollen. But moving so much better thankfully. Still feeling all the numbness in my abdomen and some tightening, but definitely coming along.
Are you wearing any type of compression, or you’re totally free of them lol
I’m still wearing the binder from the surgery. Did you keep wearing that or did you change to something else?

I'm sorry I didn't get notifications for this!
I stopped wearing my binder pretty early on, but forget when exactly. The surgery binder I think I ditched at 6 weeks and wore Spanx type garments when I went back to work. Hope you're enjoying your Summer.

Hi, glad you are back exercising. I’m 11 weeks on but I’m having terrible back ache when I do anymore than walk 30 mins and I was a gym bunny! Is your lower back not sore when you exercise?

Hi, I’ve basically seen an oestopath as due to me leaning over after the op My pelvis is tipping this causing back pain. It’s ongoing. I also sometimes feel that the muscle /skin repair on my tummy is so tight It restricts My movement sometimes when exercising. Are you back to normal with exercise, cardio/combat/weights, ab exercises?

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that.
Yes I am back to normal. I run, do HIIT, abs, and weights. I hope you can get back to normal.

Overall I am doing very well. I till have a little swelling. I did try working out (slow jog) and it felt good. I wore a binder for extra security. I still feel tightness/soreness on the upper part (in between my rib cage). After sitting for a while and when I stand up for example. Not all the time. Not of the swelling is below my incision. The flanks (from lipo) are still tender if one of my kids pushes on them. I’m not sure I see results from the lipo and if I would have that done again to be honest. Maybe once all the swelling goes down I will see more of a difference. Th incision is healing nicely.

Thank you so much for your posts it’s reassuring to see in the build up to having the op. I have a few questions for you. Is there anything you recommend buying in the build up to the op? I have a 16month old and a 3year old. I want to be as ready as possible. Clothes wise what do you recommend? You said you slept in a recliner is this right? Would you recommend having something that can recline as I currently don’t have anything like this. Many thanks!

I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner.
I didn't go crazy buying things and I'm glad I didn't since it is so short term. I was looking into a recliner chair lift but glad I saved the money. Some women love it but wouldn't be worth it for me since it only lasted about 2 weeks. I slept in our regular couch electric recliner with a lot of pillows. I think I would have been ok in the bed sooner with a lot of pillows but I was nervous to try it. With such little ones the biggest thing for you would be to get lots of help. You can lift your kids up for 6 weeks. For clothes, I wore a lot of my comfy stretchy clothes. Again, I didn't spend money on anything new. Good luck to you!
