Finally healed

Mermaid1999

This will probably be my last update. I am now 9 months post op and it’s been a hell of a ride. I still swell, my skin and stomach is still very numb, it still hurts to cough or sit up. I didn’t expect to still be in this much pain this long. My wound healed around March. Closed up just in time for my cruise. Now I have a ugly scar and wound. Wondering if it’s worth to get a revision or not. Overall yes I’m glad I got it done, I do wonder if I went with someone else would my results have been better. Would I have gotten this wound? I’m not sure.

I'm so happy you closed, thank you for your messages. Crazy that we shared the same struggle. Your scar looks way better than mine, mine is dented in and will likely stay that way. I wondered the same thing had I went to a different doc would I have had the same result. Let me see if I can inbox you pics, I'm at work now and don't have time to write a full post.

Mine is dented in a lot with lumps of hard scar tissue you just can't see in the pics. Still scared about a revision. I'd rather be ok with this joke than to end up with a wound again. I'm glad you're healing well and quickly. It's sad his nurses care more than he does. Once that money clears he doesn't give a [RS bleep]

Wound update

Mermaid1999
This has probably been the most stressful and depressing thing Ive had to deal with so far. I will say as a disclaimer, Im very happy I had the surgery, I like how I look, however, this is not something I anticipated happening to me.
My body just didnt like the stitches, so I dont think its any fault of Dr. Davoudi, however, I will say that the after care Ive received has been subpar. Its a 45 minute drive for me each way. The nurse Nikki was really sweet, but I dont think they collectively took it seriously in the beginning and it just got worse and worse. When I saw him last week he very aggressively touched my stomach while looking at it which hurt ALOT and then just told me to pack it. I drove 45 minutes for him to tell me to do something Ive already been doing and him taking 15 seconds to move on with his next client. I didnt feel any kind of empathy or support or any resolve to when he thinks this may heal.
I self referred myself to a wound clinic near me and they have been the total opposite. They actually care, they actually explain things to me and my treatment plan and how long they think it will take for me to heal. If you get a wound, please dont wait, dont expect dr davoudi to care or give you any kind of treatment, go quickly to a wound care clinic so you can not let it fester before its the point of no return. The wound clinic decided to cut my little "bridge" of skin so I could pack it easier to ensure faster healing, so now this is my journey.
I'm almost 9wpo and I'm due to go on a cruise in 4 weeks, now I wont be able to enjoy any water activities because i assumed Id be healed by now. Again I dont blame the dr for this happening, but I do not like being treated like I dont matter now that you have your payment from me, or expecting me to drive almost an hour every week for you to only spend 30 seconds with me.

Omg I’m so sorry this happen to you so did the Doctor cover this? Is it healing and do you recommend him?
April 5, 2019
It is finally healed thank God. And no the dr didn’t cover this. I will say, I recommend him based on the fact that I love my results despite the fact that I got this wound, and it truly wasn’t his fault that my body rejected the stitches. However, his lack of care or concern with my wound, and the aggressive way he handled it and looked at it for 10 seconds and went on to his next clients left a bad taste in my mouth. So it’s up to you to decide if you care about bedside manner or not.

Yes I do care about bedside manners I need to know you care and I’m not just a number after you collected all my coins I had a consult with him and felt rushed so I don’t think I will be going to him. I hope you continue to heal

How is it now

I haven't been on to make an update. It closed the week of my cruise. So the wound was open for about 2 months total. Now it's just an ugly lumpy scar

I'm dealing with something similar now, he was offended when my husband asked for a second opinion and asked if we should begin care at a wound clinic. That's all they are telling me right now "pack it" and let my body do what it's supposed to do. I'm only 3 weeks out but this is scary for me I have a hole at my incision line.
August 1, 2019
I'm sorry to hear that. Doctors do not want you to go to wound clinics because they report them to the medical board. Please go, do not let him tell you it will be fine. Take care Of it immediately. Also be aware of the costs, it was expensive but IMO it was worth it to be treated with care and gave better instructions on ho to care for it and close it

This is who is doing my surgery what is the estimated cost

And what are the pros and cons
August 1, 2019
I went to his office yesterday, so I'm having issues above and below my incision line. Above has gotten deeper and the skin is dead and basically sliding off. Below my incision has opened a bit more and I can stick the tip of my pinky in while I'm packing it. No infections though so that's somewhat of a good thing. But yesterday he said we will begin the process of contacting the wound clinic. I told him that I was offended by his tone with me last week and he apologized. I will tell you that his nurse Toni is on top of this, she calls me weekly before my appointment and asks for pictures to ensure there hasn't been any major changes since she last saw me. I'm so sorry this happened to you but your post is what made me ask for the second opinion and ask about wound care. Please post pics of your healed incision and also would you share a little about your journey with the wound clinic? Did you have a wound vac? He told me I would likely need one. Are you local?
October 4, 2019
Hey sorry I don't check this site often. It was suggested for me to do a vac but my insurance didn't approve it so I had to go the slow packing route. Total was like $8k and I ended up having to pay $2800 out of pocket. Little annoying after spending so much on surgery and supplies and fajas.

How are you doing now?

Wound

Mermaid1999
Apparently my scar doesn’t like the dissolvable stitches so I have a bit of a wound. Figured I might as well tell the good and the bad. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and hoping that it hurried up and seals itself. They prescribed me Silvadene cream so I shower and put that on and cover with gauze.
Every time I go in, the nurse plucks 2-4 stitches that are trying to make their way out. It’s really annoying because the location makes it hard to wear certain clothing or even my faja. I’m still in the binder but I’d much rather be in my faja so I can really sculpt my body.

Wow, this looks painful. How long did they say before it heals?

It varies, I’m still dealing with it
