Feeling Great!

2 weeks post op! Before I showered and left to go get my stitches removed
0:14
So I’m 2 weeks post op and back to my normal self. I have my normal energy and it is very easy to forget that I have just had major surgery so I have to make sure to be cautious still. I had my 2nd follow up visit with Dr.Harkins at Plastic Surgery Center of the south yesterday. (Again, I could not follow up with Dr. Loessin because I had to return home to Georgia to save money). My stitches came out and that should have been the last of the post op.
I have had no complications. No issues. No nothing. Dr.Loessin is truly a skilled surgeon and has a great team.
I will be able to show off my body again. I haven’t been able to do that in years.

Before my shower

Everything is healing smoothly. I have more range of motion but my back still has a lot of strain on it if I am standing for too long.
The shower was everything. My back was killing me but I didn’t care. I scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed. It really lifted my spirits. I made sure that after to put Bacitracin Zinc inside of my belly button and covered it with gauze. The steri strips did a great job protecting my incision.
I am almost able to walk upright. I am just being overly cautious not to overdo it so I don’t end up with a gross scar or ripped stitches.

Follow Up- Post Op

So my follow up surgeon was Dr.Harkins at Plastic Surgery Center of the South here in Marietta Ga. I was unable to follow up with Dr.Loessin because it would be too expensive to stay in Key West pending drain removal. I wasn’t draining much of anything on either side. Dr.Harkins urged me to go ahead and allow him to pull both drains. I am so happy to have these out of my body. He also cleaned up the incision, checked everywhere for signs of infection, checked my sutures, etc. He was very thorough! I see him again next Friday so he can remove my sutures.

I am officially over the hump. One week post op. It was rough the first few days.

Also, I had my first bowel movement yesterday. It had been a full week since I pooped prior to then. Please take your Colace. It will be a life saver for when you finally do go. It slide right out after minimal pushing. Trust me, if you would have had to force your poop out after that surgery, you would have rather have died on the table. It would have hurt SO badly. So take your Colace. Maximum dose!

Now the only discomfort I have is the abdominal binder. I’ll take that discomfort over the rest any day.

The best news is that in the morning, I’ll be able to shower.

Overall rating

Dr.Loessin is very professional! He was attentive to my needs and questions. He seemed to know I was a nervous wreck and wanted me to know that I was going to be okay. He is an artist when it comes to the body. I found him on CG Cosmetic’s Instagram but went to his private practice instead because CG Cosmetics had horrible reviews in regards to customer service. He is a great doctor and his staff at Key West Institute of Plastic Surgery was responsive, polite, and extremely informative. I would recommend him to anyone looking to be SNATCHED.
