54 and finally feeling worth it.

I was referred to Dr. Leigh by my OBGYN about 11 years ago regarding correcting my "innie" nipples. I have ALWAYS been self conscious about their tiny size and "pucker". Now, after waiting this long, I have several friends and have ran into many women who have mentioned Dr. Leigh's exceptional work. I decided to "revisit" him with a longer list of "to-do's". I saw him, and then, after doing research here on RealSelf, decided to take the advise of others and "interview" another doctor. I met with one of his colleagues at Edina Plastic Surgeons, as he too, showed great reviews here. After meeting with them both, I decided to go with Dr. Leigh, as he was more confident in being able to give me what I wanted with much more confidence. I have visited with Dr. Leigh a total of 4 times, once with my husband, who was also comfortable with Dr. Leigh. I am one who is QUITE THOROUGH in my research, with every thing.... but this is much different as this is really a huge deal. Not just the $$$$$, but you only get one body. This is like going to a seamstress that will give you the BEST ALTERATION POSSIBLE. My choice has been made. I am extremely nervous. Like others out here in RealSelf, I find my self waking up at 3:00am and reading and seeking out pictures. I have seen some great outcomes, and not so great outcomes. This is what I keep thinking of. I am a perfectionist, but a realist as well. I have pretty much been happy with my breasts, besides my inverted nipples. I am 54, 124 lbs. post 3 kids ages 33 on down to 18. I would just like to lift my breasts to be closer to my armpits than my elbows.... HA! and restore some beautiful cleavage. Also get rid of loose saggy tummy flab. I had a double hernia surgery about 15 years ago so Dr. says he will follow that scar line, which I am thrilled about. Also, going to get rid of that lower back flab. My surgery is in 3 days. I do NOT do well with narcotics so my precious Dr. is going to give me some kind of pain "block". Exparel ?? He also said he would give anti-nauseous medicine as I tend to vomit easily (sorry for the visual, but all this is important once you're "in" the situation). I usually have a high tolerance for pain, but these reviews are preparing me for some trials. Of course I'm hoping for the best results, ie: symmetry in everything from roundness of nipples, natural "outties", to even everything. Praying Scars will heal nicely too of course. I am confident Dr. Leigh will make every stitch with perfection so scars wont be jagged. So much to worry about, but when your surgeon comes so highly referred, I've GOT to trust him. Also, his staff is super understanding and kind. Ugh, I could write for another 2 hours, but it's time to get this house cleaned and get some groceries for a couple week worth for the fam.
