Addition to 11 po week update
Oh one thing I do want to mention because I wasn’t expecting this was MUSCLES!!! The new shape is great yes but on a good day the muscle definition in my legs, especially my quads — OH MY.. ridiculous! I have real, actual definition above my knee at times (when minimal swelling) and my husband tells me how jealous he is that it looks like I just ran a half marathon without even leaving the house! I’ll try to capture this in a photo if I can. But it’s pretty amazing!
Week 11po Update
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted updates so thought I’d quickly post how things are going at 11.5 weeks po.
Overall, I feel great! The new shape of my legs gets me every time I look in the mirror and I still can’t believe these are mine! I’m sooo very anxious to show them off but I’m finding that I’m super self conscious about my incisions still. I just started applying bio oil and vitamin E and think there’s already been improvement. I am going to Hawaii in a few months so I’m trying to move things along quicker if I can do anything to help it.
Let’s talk compression. Dr. Su requires compression for the Cankles 360 + knees for 2 weeks. My goal was a moving target for keeping compressions on from 2 weeks.. to 4 weeks.. to 6, and here I am still in them. I’ve heard from a few including my MLD therapist that the best results seen have been from 4-5 mos of wearing compression around the clock. After spending a small fortune, let’s just say I’ve been willing to keep them on most hours of the day in hopes of “best results.” There may be no validity to this but I’m willing to take my chances.
With this HOT summer my swelling has been constantly fluctuating! I have days where I can see my new legs clear as day then days I look so very swollen. Being active helps and with my job I sit all day which makes the swelling worse at times. Feeling-wise, today, I feel like when I touch my legs I have most feeling back though maybe my ankles are still a little numb as well as above the knee at times.
So a couple things I’ve noticed: drinking tons of water which I’m terrible at really does keep swelling down. MLD is in fact working for me though I know for some they don’t notice as much. I don’t go often but when I do, I can so see these new beauties so much better. Diet is important: I’ve tried to change things a little and notice the better I eat, the better my results look. I know that seems so obvious but when your legs didn’t respond to this stuff before, and does now, you notice.
Ok here’s a few pics from the last few weeks.

Week 4 to 5 Recap
I’m not even going to bother with photos. Why? Because I’ve been completely swollen the last week due to the heat. I can definitely understand all the various reasons why people choose to do these procedures in the winter time. Needless to say, the surgery day photos are keeping me going otherwise I feel like I look back to my old self pre-surgery. It’s a process and at times your mind can mess with you but in the end I know I’ll get beautiful results promised.
I don’t have a lot of updates so I’ll probably stop my weekly updates here. I’m doing quite well other than the swelling and I’ve decided to wear my compression as long as possible as I have heard the longer you wear it the better the results though I know that’s even debatable. I’m willing to take that chance after the $ spent on this procedure so let’s see. I am scheduling my inner/outer thighs for February and I’m excited to be fully completed after that! Right now I’m able to bend my legs quite well and am considering a gentle bike ride soon to see how that goes.
All in all I feel physically great but just need to continue patience on the full recovery including the pesky swelling. As always, feel free to DM if you have any questions as I’m always happy to share more on my experience. Again, Dr. Su is the very best and if you’re remotely considering this, just do it, you will not be disappointed… though it does require patience:)
