Thigh lift update 9 days post op
One of you was asking about the scarring. My thigh lift incisions are 9 days old now. They still look a bit horrifying. I will post a few photos I took this after noon when I got out of the shower. Apparently all the apps I was going to use to filter out the middle of the full photo have [RS bleep] filters. Who knew?! So I ended up using party pro; least you can get the full pic.
Dr. Miller and his staff are absolutely wonderful...

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.
It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.
As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

I just had my thigh lift last Wednesday so I'm still on a lot of imparting medications from that.

Thanks for sharing your story. Was it challenging to manage your kids afterward your surgery, or did you have some help at home?

I still didn't get my other before and after photos from the office of TT & breast lift. I was very satisfied and had no regrets on my results from the first surgery; this heavily influenced my decision on the thigh lift. My kids only knew I had had a surgery and muscle repair. I didn't dole out the details to them, but they knew that I needed to recover for a while.
I feel like fixing these issues and having a more positive body image is positive as my daughter ages. I won't be saying negative things about my hanging parts which bother me or avoiding any activities like the pool. I don't mind explaining to my children when they are older that I had these procedures if they ask. I had been seeing a therapist since July 2012 for my body issues and other issues. I would recommend to any one discussing these issues with a good therapist as well before you decide to have surgery. I am so glad I did. My results did not change me inwardly in any way, but made me feel comfortable to return to the athletic community I enjoy so much and the pool.
The recovery period of this process can be challenging for every one; it's normal to have some depression after a major surgery. How well you do will depend on how much help you have to allow you the time you need during your recovery. Stress is not helpful and can quickly burden your mind so make sure you have some one to clean your house for a few weeks or a program like a summer camp to take over 80 percent of what you do with your kids for the amount of down time recommended.
I didn't really feel too many social challenges that come with these surgeries as they have become common place. I also don't tell many people my most personal plans except my top 4-5 gal pals who didn't judge. My family doesn't even know.. unless one of them decides to have plastic surgery and looks me up on realself lol.
Oh, and I guess the only other thing I would say would be surgery may not be right for you if you're not sure you need it because your result won't be visible enough to you for you to be happy and feel it was worth it. It's too much to go through to feel bad about if afterward. Make sure you feel it's necessary; surgery is really painful and the recovery is long.

I think it's a tough recovery though. I only saw one other person on here who doesn't feel her recovery is difficult. I just started going places on my 11th day - only one place a day. Yesterday lunch & today a movie with the kids.. Best..j
My Derma bond is coming off but is still on in a lot places so some of my incisions look pretty weird. I did have a small part of my left incision pull apart thanks to me bending over and mopping and stuff.
My Dr. said this would not be problematic and that the place where the incision pulled apart would pull back together really tightly when the body heals it.
I'm still disappointed I did that since it would've been preferable not to bust any :( I've been super careful about what I'm doing since then.
I still have pain. Some times a lot depending on how much I move around. I've decided to just allow the pain because it's limiting my activity so much. When I'm reading or watching Netflix I feel fine - not moving.
Not being active is starting to wear on me though. Using the bathroom is horrible. I can't wait to feel more normal cause it hasn't happened yet. I honestly thought I would be back to normal within two weeks. How completely wrong I was..
Yesterday I ordered extra supplements to help with swelling- bromelain (I think it was) and a post surgical supplement kit from make me heal.com which I wish I would've ordered earlier. Oh well
Here's to our quick recoveries then. Keep me posted on how you are:)
From what I've read, it sounds like every one's scars are pretty puffy at the incision sites and flatten out over a year. One lady on here talked about pie crust incisions that are meant to take stress of the incision site and flatten after a year. Hers look pretty good now.
Tomorrow I will take some new photos after my Dr. appt.
I also feel like it's taking forever for the incisions to close. I do laundry and really smallish cleaning up but also spend most of my time sitting in a recliner or on my bed. I read or watch Breaking Bad lol.
