Dr. Miller and his staff are absolutely wonderful from the beginning to end of postoperative care. I did a tummy tuck and breast lift with implants last year. Last week I went back for a thigh lift and also upper body liposuction. I did not look into real self much before my own surgery and did not take my own before photos. At some point pending my husband's approval I may ask the clinic and put them up. I only wish I could've done my tummy tuck sooner so I could've enjoyed more pool time with my kiddos.

Welcome to the community and thanks so much for offering your opinion of your doctor.

It would be great if you could give us a little more detail about your experience, like why you had the surgery, your tips for getting good results, pros/cons, and info on the recovery process.

As a community manager, I get requests all the time from other members who want me to to keep encouraging people to share their experiences, which are so helpful for others considering these procedures. So please accept this as a well-intentioned request from thousands.

I definitely will. I will post more pics after I get them from their medical assistant.
I just had my thigh lift last Wednesday so I'm still on a lot of imparting medications from that.

Thanks for sharing your story. Was it challenging to manage your kids afterward your surgery, or did you have some help at home?

I could not have managed my kids at any time for the first three weeks. I hired babysitters off of Care.com and found college girls to come in and help me.

I'm considering a lower body lift (tummy, thighs, buttocks). Honestly I know I don't really need it, but I'm sick of dreading summer, being ashamed of my dimpled, lax thighs, and feeling like I have to hide my legs. I'd be very interested in seeing pics of your scars. The scars are the main thing holding me back. My second concern is how to have such a major surgery without my kids needing to know the details and also sending them the wrong message. This is such a difficult decision. Are you completely at peace with your decision, outcome and the mental / social challenges that come along with it?

Sorry I didn't notice your comment ealier in the week! I'm off almost all the medications from the last surgery now. I will some photos for you of my thigh lift scars which look pretty nasty right now still. My guess is I will likely look at revising the scars at some point.
I still didn't get my other before and after photos from the office of TT & breast lift. I was very satisfied and had no regrets on my results from the first surgery; this heavily influenced my decision on the thigh lift. My kids only knew I had had a surgery and muscle repair. I didn't dole out the details to them, but they knew that I needed to recover for a while.
I feel like fixing these issues and having a more positive body image is positive as my daughter ages. I won't be saying negative things about my hanging parts which bother me or avoiding any activities like the pool. I don't mind explaining to my children when they are older that I had these procedures if they ask. I had been seeing a therapist since July 2012 for my body issues and other issues. I would recommend to any one discussing these issues with a good therapist as well before you decide to have surgery. I am so glad I did. My results did not change me inwardly in any way, but made me feel comfortable to return to the athletic community I enjoy so much and the pool.
The recovery period of this process can be challenging for every one; it's normal to have some depression after a major surgery. How well you do will depend on how much help you have to allow you the time you need during your recovery. Stress is not helpful and can quickly burden your mind so make sure you have some one to clean your house for a few weeks or a program like a summer camp to take over 80 percent of what you do with your kids for the amount of down time recommended.
I didn't really feel too many social challenges that come with these surgeries as they have become common place. I also don't tell many people my most personal plans except my top 4-5 gal pals who didn't judge. My family doesn't even know.. unless one of them decides to have plastic surgery and looks me up on realself lol.
Oh, and I guess the only other thing I would say would be surgery may not be right for you if you're not sure you need it because your result won't be visible enough to you for you to be happy and feel it was worth it. It's too much to go through to feel bad about if afterward. Make sure you feel it's necessary; surgery is really painful and the recovery is long.

Of course! I really wish I had shared it last year but I guess I didn't feel comfortable to do so then. I was wishing there was more out there on the thigh lifts so I'm glad I can add to the commit with that.

Thigh lift update 9 days post op

I forgot to mention the price listed is reflected in the TT and BL from my initial surgery.

One of you was asking about the scarring. My thigh lift incisions are 9 days old now. They still look a bit horrifying. I will post a few photos I took this after noon when I got out of the shower. Apparently all the apps I was going to use to filter out the middle of the full photo have [RS bleep] filters. Who knew?! So I ended up using party pro; least you can get the full pic.

What made you decide on a thigh lift as opposed to lipo?
User Avatar
June 22, 2015
Lipo was done at the same time as the thigh lift. I also considered a non invasive option, but I had an inch and a half of loose skin at the top of the thighs. They've been big all my life and still are from ultra running but have a much nicer profile. I still have lots of swelling but will update with photos.

That would be great. I don't think thigh lifts are that common (around where I live at least??), so I was just curious about what would justify needing that as opposed to LIPO, but I see you had both done! Thanks!
June 22, 2015
At my consult, the surgeon told me that lipo would result in more skin laxity, which is prob the case with a lot of people. I think stand alone lipo is really only an option for people with really good skin elasticity. This is why various surgical lifts are becoming more common place.

Yowzer, that looks painful! thank you for posting!

You know, as painful as that looks, I would still trade scars there that will be hidden most likely by underwear and you body's natural creases, for smooth, tight and firm thighs.

I didn't feel I found many thigh lifts on real self. Yep, lipo would probably just result in more loose skin. You may have already seen some of the people who've used fat from their thighs for other areas of the body are now feeling they need thigh lifts.
I think it's a tough recovery though. I only saw one other person on here who doesn't feel her recovery is difficult. I just started going places on my 11th day - only one place a day. Yesterday lunch & today a movie with the kids.. Best..j

Your incisions look amazing compare to mine and I'm 3 weeks post op. I had lipo and inner thigh lift. It doesn't hurt but feels extremely uncomfortable. My back is swollen and numb. I'm starting lymphatic massages today. How are you feeling?
User Avatar
June 26, 2015
Oh I don't know any one who does that here since I'm not really familiar with lymphatic massages. Sounds like a such great idea.. Let me know how it works. I'll have to look at your profile.
My Derma bond is coming off but is still on in a lot places so some of my incisions look pretty weird. I did have a small part of my left incision pull apart thanks to me bending over and mopping and stuff.
My Dr. said this would not be problematic and that the place where the incision pulled apart would pull back together really tightly when the body heals it.
I'm still disappointed I did that since it would've been preferable not to bust any :( I've been super careful about what I'm doing since then.
I still have pain. Some times a lot depending on how much I move around. I've decided to just allow the pain because it's limiting my activity so much. When I'm reading or watching Netflix I feel fine - not moving.
Not being active is starting to wear on me though. Using the bathroom is horrible. I can't wait to feel more normal cause it hasn't happened yet. I honestly thought I would be back to normal within two weeks. How completely wrong I was..
Yesterday I ordered extra supplements to help with swelling- bromelain (I think it was) and a post surgical supplement kit from make me heal.com which I wish I would've ordered earlier. Oh well
Here's to our quick recoveries then. Keep me posted on how you are:)

I looked at your profile. The office gave me these absorbent cushy pads that look like maxi pads that keep the compression garmet from rubbing those incisions. You could just buy some maxi pads and it would be the same thing. My Dr's office also had me already taking QBC plex and Arnica to help with swelling and bruising. You can buy all the supplements on Amazon also. Hope that might be helpful. Best.

Thanks for your response, I went to a lymphatic drainage massage yesterday and I completely feel the difference, I highly recommend it. I walk and do little chores around the house but I'm mainly in bed. I stop using the garnishment since it didn't let me breath but I'm wearing yoga pants and using gauze in my wounds and the neosporing everyday is helping. I'm already with 3 boxes of arnica and I feel ok but my wounds are taking forever to close.

I hope yours are feeling better mine are really bumpy but not sure if it's normal, every dr is asking me to wait. Keep me posted

That's wonderful about your massage! I will have to look into finding some one who does that in my area.
From what I've read, it sounds like every one's scars are pretty puffy at the incision sites and flatten out over a year. One lady on here talked about pie crust incisions that are meant to take stress of the incision site and flatten after a year. Hers look pretty good now.
Tomorrow I will take some new photos after my Dr. appt.
I also feel like it's taking forever for the incisions to close. I do laundry and really smallish cleaning up but also spend most of my time sitting in a recliner or on my bed. I read or watch Breaking Bad lol.
