I just went in for all of my Pre-Op instructions...

I just went in for all of my Pre-Op instructions and paper work. 63 yr old with 32 yr old saline under muscle implants. Just realizing, I have had them for almost 1/2 of my life. I had originally gotten implants after having a lumpectomy on one breast, and was left thinking, I was "lopsided" So went in to get one side done, but decided to go for it, and went up 2 cup sizes. I have never shared with anyone that I have even had this procedure. So not only am I nervous about the surgery, but feeling like I will need to explain "what happened to my boobs" Should I wear something in my bra to make up for the size difference? Or just wear loose fitting clothes and say nothing? But what I do know is that it is absolutely time to get them out. My left side is so painful and hard, I am not able to raise my arm, with out feeling a pulling sensation. I cannot lay on that side either. Hugging anyone is painful, and I also always feel like any physical contact.....they must feel how hard that side must feel. My surgeon thinks the pain will be gone after the ex-plant. So at this point I am nervous, excited and scared all at once. will keep posting....

Update....one day post op !

The journey continues ..... Yesterday was a wild ride, although it seems like it was much longer ago than that. Now looking back it seems like yesterday was a bit of a blur, but a good one. The procedure went well, and I was taken over by such a sense of calm, that I decided to hang on to that feeling and it really helped. Went in at 6:30 in the morning and was back home by 10:00 . The worst part was simply the overall anxiety of the process .( The medical staff was wonderful and I didn't even have to go home wearing a cone on my neck, I promised I wouldn't lick )
Yesterday there really wasn't much pain. Today is some pain, but it is more localized, if that makes sense. Like a jabbing feeling in one side or the other. I am such a light weight when it comes to pain meds, I found if I take a 1/2 of the prescribed one, with a whole tylenol , I don't have such a brain fog. Sleeping upright is a bit of a challenge, but I do have a bed that raises, so that helps, but for future reference I would strongly suggest to have about 2 extra pillows that are soft enough to hold onto and fold if needed. It just feels good for protection. Tomorrow is another day, I hope to write another update.

How are you doing today?
July 14, 2017
hi, I am doing fantastic !!! Lastnight I decided to see if I could sleep with out any pain meds. I actually did it. Then woke up this morning full of energy. DId finally decide to take a 1/2 of a pain pill. It isn't a constant pain, but it is more like a jab that seems to come out of no where. So this at least make it a little more manageable. Other than that, I am still pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

Your photo after removal looks fabulous. So much better than with. A much more natural shape. I hope you continue to heal well and have fabulous results. I replant in about 10days, I'll be thrilled if my results are as good as yours. X

Day two post op. Here they are, just hanging around waiting to continue to heal. All I am getting now is an occasional jab of pain, but it is tolerable.

Hi there! im glad to hear your healing is going well so far. Your pic looks real good too. Did you have them explanted thur your areola area? How long did you have drains? And did you have a capsulectomy? I finally found a PS that I'm real excited to see. I've heard nothing but positive things about her. But she is hard to get in with. My scheduled appt is Oct 4th! But I'm also on a waiting list for a cancelation. So hopefully I will get in before Oct. I'm in a lot of pain with my left breast.

Hi, Yes, so far I am doing great. Yes I did have them explanted through the areola area. He did them through the same scars that I had the implants done. Yes I did have a capsulectomy just on the left side. I dont have a drain. They said I would but I did have one. My right side is almost pain free too. I hope all goes as well for you. I was also supposed to be at a later date, but got in on a cancellation. so maybe your luck will also turn in that direction :)

Thanks for telling me that...I sure hope I get in earlier too. It's nice that your PS did it thur the same incision as implant. No extra scares for you! That's awesome. Rest and take it easy today. :-)
