Days 4-7

Day 4 post op is when I could honestly feel like I was getting back to my old self. I was able to get out of bed on my own and it was the first day I was able to eat all my breakfast (I had 0 appetite the first 3 days and barely ate a bowl of oatmeal a day). I also showered on my own and was generally able to do most things without anyone else’s help. I had to go very slowly to not over exert myself. I felt less tightness on my chest and started to feel my breasts as more of a weight on my chest. I started taking walks around my neighborhood to get my blood flowing and not be in the house all day.

Days 5-6 felt like a breeze. I was able to take tylenol during the day and at night I would take the narcotic pain med because I would wake up in the middle of the night with slight pain. My eating habits were mostly back to normal, just smaller portions. Day 6 I even went to the movie theatre and was perfectly fine!

Day 7 was my 1 week check up and Dr. Greenwald said everything looked fantastic. He changed my steristrips and advised me to wear any bras that I was comfortable in. I still have to take it slow and not lift anything over 5lbs, no working out, etc. Because my breasts were slightly tuberous my post op massage is just pushing my breasts together for 10 seconds a few times a day. I’m already so happy with how they look can’t wait to see what they look like a few months later!

Days 1-3

I used real self extensively in my boob job research journey so i’m excited to pay it forward!! I’ll provide pics/ updates from the first week post op and keep updating as the months go on.

My surgery was on 12/4 and I was the first surgery of the day. Pre-op went by so quickly- they did a pregnancy test, inserted an IV, met with the anesthesiologist who explained how the surgery would go, and lastly met with Dr. Greenwald so he could mark me up before surgery. After that I said bye to my family and went in for surgery! As soon as I woke up I was very hot almost sweating which was strange because i’m usually very cold. I also felt a little nauseous as soon as I woke up but the nurse gave me some meds through an IV and 20 minutes later I was perfectly fine. The nurse Danielle was amazing she was so sweet and comforting in the entire process. She also provided detailed aftercare instructions to my mom and boyfriend and answered a bunch of their questions which they both appreciated.

The first 48 hours I had to wear a band to push the implants down and it hurt!! It also felt like it constricted my breathing and with new boobs my chest area was feeling tight. I tried my best to stay calm and just tell myself everything will work out because if I focused on how much pain I was in it would make it worse if that makes sense. The first night was the most uncomfortable because of the pain and tightness I was feeling I couldn’t find a position that I was comfortable enough to sleep in. I ended up sleeping on the reclining couch because I could be elevated and get up if I wanted to.

Day 1 post op was the worst of it in my opinion. I was just in so much pain looking back I could barely remember what I did that day. Everything hurt- pushing down the soap dispenser to wash my hands, getting out of bed, sitting down to standing up, it all hurt so much and I typically have a high pain tolerance so I was shocked. My best advice would be to call the doc and ask about medicine dosage! I was scared to take the narcotic pain med but I was in so much pain I had to. The doctor suggested I take 2 every 4 hours and once I did this I felt soooooo much better and kicked myself for not doing it sooner. The receptionists/ nurses/ and doctors office are so responsive everytime I called I would get an answer within 5 mins so do not be afraid to call.

Day 2 post op is when I was able to take off the velcro band, see my boobs for the first time, & shower! Seeing my breasts all bruised and marked up for the first time was SCARY. My incision marks were around the nipple and the dried blood around it is what scared me the most because I was afraid I was bleeding too much, but I showed the doctor and he reassured me all was well. Taking the first shower was life changing and made me feel much more comfortable. The healing process is scary but I’m still happy I went through with it!

Tuberous Breast Correction: Natrelle Soft Touch Moderate Profile 295cc / 5’3 111lbs 24 Years Old No Kids

As most boob job stories start, I have been thinking about this procedure for 10+ years and i’m so glad I finally did it!!

I had slightly tuberous breasts so my augmentation included a periareolar lift because one of my nipples was lower than the other. The first 3 days of recovery were honestly the hardest- a lot of pain and tightness in the chest area was a very uncomfortable feeling but after day 4 was when I was able to move more and the pain became more manageable. My after pic is only 9 days post op so I can’t wait to see how good they look after they’re completely healed!
