Overall Very Happy with FFS Results (Browbone Reduction/forehead Reduction/rhinoplasty)

I had facial feminization surgeries - brow bone reduction/forehead reduction and rhinoplasty - by Dr Kwon Byung Yun and Dr Kim Hyeong Jun respectively in March 2024. I live in a country nearby South Korea so I went for a consultation in advance of the surgery.

Starting with positives, I am VERY happy with the results - especially with the brow bone. I specifically requested Dr Kwon for this after seeing his work in some of Nana’s YouTube videos and other sponsored reviews and definitely do not regret it. 4 months post op the scar along my hairline and under my nose have faded rather nicely. Dr Kwon warned me in advance of the surgery that there was a high possibility of permanent sensation loss on the top of my head where the skin would need to be lifted, but I feel like this has mostly come back. I booked my surgeries through TF Agency, but Nana’s English team were all super nice and seemed sincerely invested in ensuring I got a result I was happy with before and after my surgery.

Because of the surgery results I am happy to give Nana 5 stars and would (and already have) recommend this to other trans women interested in getting FFS in Korea. However, I think Nana could improve on communication and explanations after surgery. I also had botox injections in my calves during the surgery and woke up wearing compression socks - no one mentioned this before the surgery, and it wasn’t explained after or in any of the post-op precautions sheets I was given. It actually wasn’t until someone noticed I left them on the bed after changing back into my clothes that I was told I actually needed to keep wearing them for the next week. Similarly, the post-op precautions sheets were not really specific to forehead/brow bone reduction, and meant I had to ask a lot of follow up questions through my agency while I was recovering at my hotel - though they were always very quick to respond to these.

I was originally going to get facial contouring surgery here with Dr Kim too, but a week or so after my consultation (and 3 weeks before the surgery date) I was informed that they would be unable to use a smaller tube size for intubation under general anesthesia for the facial contouring procedures. As I had undergone VFSRAC voice feminization surgery in the past, larger tube sizes could damage my vocal folds - this is something that I had mentioned during the pre-surgery medical exam after the consultation also. Nana and my agency were very professional in their handling of this, and offered me a few options including canceling everything and giving me a full refund.

I went with another hospital who were comfortable accommodating the tube size restrictions for the facial contouring in the end, but I am still very happy with the surgeries I did have at Nana and with the service overall - you will be in good hands.

As a final point, if you are considering VFSRAC and FFS (especially facial contouring) I would recommend doing your FFS first. I’m happy to say after everything that I did not have any side effects with my voice from my surgeries at Nana or the other hospital, but even with a smaller tube size there is potential of damaging the vocal folds and requiring a revision. I respect that Nana’s decision about the face contouring surgery was ultimately made from a concern and priority for safety.
