WORTH IT
I added 1.5cc of Voluma into both my cheeks. I already had Radiesse along the zygomatic arch but the area I desperately needed volume was the anteromedial cheek. So in went 1.5cc of Voluma just into that region. Seeing as I have also had Radiesse into that area before I will review a comparison.
Aesthetics: Voluma is significantly softer and more natural looking than Radiesse. It is less likely that you will end up looking overdone with Voluma since it looks so natural and soft.
Value for money: With that being said however, its advantage is also its downfall. Being softer means that you will need much more of the product as compared to Radiesse since a harder/thicker filler would volumize more than a softer/thinner filler. For example when I had 1.5cc of Radiesse into the same area, it was extremely full; maybe even too full for the first few weeks. But to achieve a similar full effect, I actually had to add 0.8cc of Radiesse (I did this a month before adding voluma) and 1.5cc of Voluma. Bottom line is you would need much more Voluma to achieve the same volumizing effect as with Radiesse.
Durability: It seemed mostly gone after 3 months, but this is difficult for me to gauge since I also had Radiesse in my cheeks, I was not sure if the decrease in volume was due to Radiesse or Voluma that was dissipating. However, I can no way see the product lasting 2 years as described in the US. No filler lasts that long besides maybe Aretcoll. Even the newer fillers in Europe, Ellanse S, M, L and E which claim to last 1, 2, 3 and 4 years respectively don't seem to have very positive longevity reviews so far. Anyway I am digressing.
Overall, I would recommend Voluma for a natural look but the amount of product you would require if you had been a regular user of Radiesse will surprise. Also as a side note, Voluma does not provide as much structure and lift to your face as Radiesse. The only real advantage of Voluma is that it is more natural looking than Radiesse.

Great review! I too have had both and experienced much the same. I believe Voluma comes in .08 syringes and with only one syringe at $750 or so, it is NOT a good value. Like you, I didn't see 2 years. It seemed to dissipate quickly.
I'm curious, have you tried Sculptra? I think the longevity is much longer (even longer than the two years they claim). However, what they say about multiple treatments is true - a lot of patience is needed.

Nope I have not tried sculptra even though my plastic surgeon keeps trying to sell me it. But yes I agree it is not good value for money. Did you find that you achieved a more natural look withy voluma compared to radiesse?

hey - your comments have been the most helpful to me. my problem is: i keep going in for voluma and seeing an amazing sculpted look that last ca. 7-10days before the product softens and starts to retain water and in fact make my face rounder. i want stronger bone stucture--not to look younger. did radiesse soften after a certain amount of time too? i was told i'm too early to the golden age of plastic surgery/body manipulation. i would never try cheek implants bc your face is constantly changing - it doesnt make sense. i've also never gotten more than 2-3 months with any filler i've tried (voluma, restylane, juvederm). my ideal filler would imitate bone structure in the chin/cheeks, not be HA based, still be safer than radiesse, and last a real 4-6 months. i think a lot of men are waiting for that.
Thanks for the comparison- it is really helpful! Please let us know if the Voluma continues to dissipate.
