So I am a 33 year old Black woman, who is in relatively good shape. I have been extremely self conscious for years because of the noticeable under eye bags (which I personally believe was caused by genetics and years late night studying and work). I felt uncomfortable taking pictures because of how unattractive my under-eye bags made me look; and I was tired of people coming up to me asking “did you sleep well last night”…or “you look tired”, especially when rest was not the issue. For years I wanted to get my under eye bags removed but was scared to do so (considering the possible reprecusions that can come from surgery near your eyes). Plus I was worried that others would notice my scar or it would change the look of my face too much that I would look like a person from the TV show BOTCHED. After doing some research I met with several doctors but decided to move forward with Dr. Torgenson because of how knowledgeable, patient and experienced he is. He took the time to answer my list of questions (I probably had 30+), and answer my questions months later when I came back with my family member (it’s nice to have a support system). I read a lot of reviews about where the incision should be made because of my skin type and Dr Torgenson gave be a detailed response on which incision was best after meeting personally with me. When I was on the surgery bed he continued to put my mind at ease and was encouraging me that I was going to “love the results”. I had my surgery in June 2017 and it’s been approximately 2.5 months and I am so happy with the difference. What I do want to mention is that it is helpful to take certain pills (doctor prescribed) to allow the healing to be faster (not mandatory but recommended). I still have a few bumps at the corner of my eyes (where the stitches were) that are expected to go away in time. I would recommend Dr. Torgenson again.
