Hey! I came across this site in support with my FIRST EVER rhinoplasty surgery. I am scheduled for the surgery in August 2013 and I am super excited! I'm not getting any work done with my profile just my front view because it gets really wide when I smile and there is a bump on the right side of it which has been annoying me for years with breathing problems and appearance. I have the mock photo's which my doctor gave to me after my consultation. How does it look? Also! Does the IV hurt? Will it be hard for me to smile after a while? I am a total whimp when it comes to blood :( Any advice that you guys could give me would be really appreciated!

Hey Jasmin, I am also considering Dr. Smith for my rhinoplasty. I still have to have a consultation with him but I was wondering if the August 16 date was the earliest surgery date available?

Thanks for the quick response. I have my consultation with him in April.. it takes a while to see him which is a good thing I guess. I have been thinking of having a rhinoplasty since I was 17 and have finally decided that I need to get it done (I'm 25 now). I'm just concerned about the general anesthesia more than the actual surgery. I wish I could just do the surgery under local anesthesia lol

Thanks for starting your story! I didn't think the IV hurt much. Just a small pinch. I might've even gotten topical anesthetic before they put it in. Smiling could be harder for a few weeks because your upper lip might be a little stiff, but that should come back as you heal.

Here's a list of supplies to consider for recovery.

Please keep us posted as you get closer to your big day!

Saving up for Surgery?

User Avatar

Hey! I still haven't had my surgery yet and had to use all the funds I had saved previously to pay for school. I am working two jobs right now part time but does anyone have any tips on how to save up for Rhinoplasty? Thank you!

You are so so so gorgeous and I really don't think you should have anything done. This procedure is a BIG deal and there is no turning back once its done. I know my opinion means nothing to you but I thought I should give my 2 cents. I dont think anyone should go through this unless they absolutely hate their nose more than anything. Good luck girl.

Hi, did you have your surgery done? I would really love to see pics of your new nose. I hope it turned beautiful :)
