I had a consult for this procedure 10 years ago in Sarnia Ontario with a doctor who has since moved. I decided to finish all my pregnancies first and now that I am completely done, I am impatient and want it done yesterday. I attempted to book several consultations. The first doctor I really liked the look of was Dr. Shortt in Oakville. Then I started following a bunch of doctors on social media and I really liked the work I saw Dr. 6ix doing, and realized because he runs his own OR he is able to schedule MANY more surgeries in. I was also able to get in for a consultation there much faster.
On the day of my consult, Dr. J was away on vacation so it was with Nurse Kim. I honestly felt really fat at the end of it. I was PMSy and bloated but I didn't know I would need an "extended" tummy tuck. She advised me not to get implants just a lift (which I agree with, TBH, I just really want the implant style of breasts). And then said based on the amount of lipo I would need it would be hard to schedule me in because he only does one lipo case a day (because it's exhausting).
I know this is my own issue but based on my career I can only really do this during the winter months. And I am going away to Flordia in February so I wanted to be well enough to go. I asked for a November or December date... and she is trying to fit me in during early December but made it sound like it would be a huge issue. I felt like I had to put my money down and book right away so I didn't lose that date. So I'm booked for Dec 11. I am going to try to lose 20lbs before then (basically the 20 I gained over the summer- ugh) so that it's a better result and less lipo is required. I also asked if they could remove a mole at the same time and she said not likely.
I wish I was a bit more patient. I was hoping to do a consult with Dr. Shortt in Oakville who's results and reviews look very promising (and seems very reasonably priced etc) but it's the end of November before I can get a consult. By the time I could get a surgical date it would be well after the window of time I feel I could do it this year.
If they call back and cancel the Dec 11th date (which she made it sound like he might down when he returns from vacation). I will be very disappointed but I will wait and book for February and hope that my team at work will understand my taking the busiest time off.
I didn't get a very clear idea of what I could expect for results. I think I am pretty educated from this website and following on snapchat etc, but I would have liked some more "hands on" visualization. I heard some clinics even do 3D mockups.
I do think I will be very happy with my results and I think he is a fantastic doctor, and the fact that he has this system where Kim does the consults (after years of working with him) and he can do MORE surgeries and be more effective... makes sense. And I knew going into it that the consult was going to be without him, but it still felt kinda unsatisfying. Especially for $200 (which is credited towards the surgery).
