Congratulations! You've found Dr. Marc Duperè and the Visage team. Perhaps, like me, you have been on a long road of research and contemplation before committing to a clinic. Or maybe you lucked out and simply stumbled upon my clinic of choice. Either way, you are here now, and I have the pleasure of sharing my experience with you. Today marks three months post operation of my facial feminization surgery. This time has provided the space for the healing and reflection needed to give a thoughtful review. I am a 27 year old trans feminine person. Being trans, my first puberty caused my bone structure to developed some fairly strong masculine characteristics. The most detracting, in my opinion, were my sloped forehead, large eyebrow ridge and a pointy Adam's Apple. I contracted Visage to complete a eyebrow lift, scalp advancement, with frontal bossing and a tracheal shave. My main concern moving forward with this, or any operation, was I didn't want to look fake. I didn't want to walk into a coffee shop, have people look at me, and think, wow, that person had a plastic surgery. I am relieved to report this hasn't been my experience. I have a full time job and a two year old. So my schedule is pretty tight. When a two week window lined up, my operation was scheduled. In less than a month the Visage team expedited the process to complete all the required blood tests and bone scans. Next thing I knew, I was wearing a gown and watching netflix in the pre operation waiting room. Even at this time, I still had piles of anxiety and apprehensions. But trust me, you will soon find out, as I did, you are in the caring hands of not only a doctor, but an artist. I am so excited for you! I would recommend facial feminization surgery to any trans people even with subtle masculine characteristics. Dr. Marc Duperè did an exceptional job of softening my masculine features to create a more feminine face. Moreover, increasing whole face symmetry and drastically enhancing my natural beauty. This procedure has changed my life. The added confidence I now have to express myself fully is paramount. When I look in the mirror I see beautiful and feel proud.
