Downsized Breast Implants After 21 Years with No Lift! - Toronto, ON

I had my 600cc high profile Mentor implants replaced with Inspira moderate 405/445cc Soft Form #2 gel last Thursday. Dr. Kreidstein did a left capsulorraphy because the left pocket was over dissected by a previous doctor causing the left breast to sit too medially. He also revised my areola scars. I felt my previous implants were too big especially with the profile and a bit too wide as well. I didn't have hardly any space between my breasts (no symmastia) so I also wanted to have a bit more gap. My present implants seem like the perfect fit for me so far and I haven't even seen them without a bra! I had always preferred bigger faker looking breasts but now at 48 years of age I want smaller and more natural! We went with two different sizes to address asymmetry. Before choosing Dr. Kreidstein I had gone to two other consults and both of those well known doctors discouraged me from downsizing almost like they were not confident enough to do what needed to be done or they just didn't want to bother with a revision for someone else's patient. From the very first visit with Dr. Kreidstein, he displayed alot of confidence and reassured me that it was a fairly straight forward and uncomplicated revision. He said it would be time consuming for the left pocket capsulorraphy but that was it, so I felt at ease from the very first visit. That told me he was willing to put in the time....He also felt strongly that I would not need a lift. This in itself was huge because I had large implants in for 21 years but I did not have any prior sag beforehand so I'm sure that helped. We also chose the Inspiras because I had alot of rippling with the Mentors even in the cleavage. Because Inspira offers two different gels, we chose Soft Form #2 gel for this reason. I haven't looked at them yet but tomorrow I get my dressings off. I must say though that they feel nice in my hands and alot more proportionate to my body. I am so glad to have chosen Dr. Kreidstein....I will update soon with some post op revision pictures!

I am excited for you, can't wait to see your outcome. When I was younger I wanted big fake things that I could rest my chin on....thank goodness life didn't let me get around to that. I am in my 40s now and researching what I want to do, thinking of trying fat transfer....I just thought it was funny to see someone else express that that look is no longer desirable, glad I'm not alone

It's crazy how we want one thing and something opposite later on in life....Thankyou for your support. Good Luck with your fat transfer!

Thanks for sharing. What did your doctor do to address the over dissection of the muscle? Please keep posting updates with photo.

I don't believe the muscle was previously over dissected I believe just the left pocket was which caused my old 600 cc implant to sit too medial compared to the right side. He did a left side capsularphy applying sutures along the pocket to create more gap in the cleavage.

I am so happy to hear our story thank you so much for sharing!! I am seeing my surgeon on Thursday in hopes of going from 485cc full profile to 300cc mod without a lift. I had the 485cc put in five months ago and have felt it's been a mistake since. They don't fit me

So it's been just over two weeks since I've downsized and I feel pretty good with no significant pain. I still have lot's of swelling, a bit of extra skin around the nipple area that needs to shrink down. The left breast hasn't settled completely and is a bit higher right now. I had a left capsulorraphy in the medial area so this is probably why the left is taking longer. I am so far very pleased with the size!

I can see a substantially bigger difference between uhp, Hp and moderate ones. Go and moderate looking million times better.
I may be downsizing ( very probable) in Dec/Jan. It's so uplifting to see lifts are unnecessary.
The size looks great. You look healthy and athletic. Sending hugs xoxoxo

8 weeks post op from downsizing implants with a lift.
Jessica68September 12, 2016
Hello, I am 8 weeks post op from downsizing my implants and I'm doing well with no discomfort or pain. When I was in to see my doctor 3 weeks ago he said the left breast (your right) should drop more to look more even with the right. Because of the capsule repair he did on the left, the implant is sitting higher and hasn't filled out in the lower half. The repair may be slower down this process of dropping completely in it's pocket. My doctor said to give it time but worse scenario if it doesn't he will have to make a small revision to revise the pocket. He said he would waive his fee, and I was so happy that he brought all of this up himself without me having to wonder or ask first. I am very happy so far and fingers crossed that my left drops some more!

I am also very happy with my new smaller size and wish I had did this years ago. I downsized 195cc in one breast and 155cc in the other. I used to be a 34 DD/DDD and now at this stage fitting into a 34 D. I feel more confident and less self conscious of looking too big and too fake. At 48 years of age less is more......

Oops!!! Correction with above heading: What I meant to write is 'WITHOUT A LIFT."
It seems to be a trend at this age to downsize a bit. Glad you can do this for yourself. It sounds like all your research is going to pay off. I bet you're going to feel great and will enjoy being ripple free! Let us know how things look once you get your dressing off!
Good point about the ripples. I have heard that thin skin can be a challenge no matter what type of implant. Crossing my fingers the new implants will lessen the ripples so you feel more confident and comfortable with your look.
